More freedom?

I am a big fan of the Witcher series, though I have always hoped that the sequel to the assassination of kings would offer a bit more freedom to the player. Is anyone aware of whether The Witcher 3 will offer a more open map that allows for a true free roam experience and will it allow the player to roam that map more independently from the story line and perhaps continue playing after completing the quest line?

These questions might be a bit premature, I don't know if this information is available to anyone or not.

Cheers.

@Dave: They already confirmed that you can play the game after you finish the main story, BUT some quests will be locked due to how your choices affect the World State of the game throughout your playthrough which will render some quests locked after a certain condition or flag is made.

Also..the game is full open world in Novigrad + NOmans land another another big map the same size of the first one in Ard Skellige.

There will be NO loading screens in those massive zones (only when Fast Traveling and in between Ard Skellige and the main land..or going to a locked location..like Vizima Throne Room or White Orchard which is the prologue). Those places are closed off, but you can go back to finish quests via fast travelling after you get out of them.

(Trying to determine if troll or not. Meh, okay.)

The answer is yes to all those question. The official gameplay trailer here should give you a solid overview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYwe_WHARdc

I had noted the information in the official trailer. A lot of people say the Witcher 2 was 'open world', I was just unsure as to whether this one would be similar to that style or truly open world as in other game series such as TES.

Ahh. Yes. TW3 will be (more?) open world in the same vein as the TES games. (TES games had loading times for going into buildings, TW3 will not.)

If size is one of those things that interests you or makes you curious, the Devs seem to be estimated the game to about 20% larger than Skyrim physically. That seems like a misleading number though, because TW3 is looking like it will /packed/ with content.

As far as I know, people on NeoGaf estimated, that TW3 is about 3-3.5 times larger than Skyrim (without Dragonborn) and about 1.5 times larger than GTA V.

And all youtube gameplays suggests that the world is packed with content.
