More Witcher games...

At first, it seemed that Witcher 3 will end the series. But after interviews from E3 it seems that CDPR considers making more games from the universe, just not with Geralt as main character.

Do you want more Witcher games or should CDPR focus on something new?

Personally, I like that CDPR is adapting books and table-top RPGs. There is so much of those that in my eyes it would be a shame to focus on one IP for so long. I´d like to see CDPR doing something completely new after Witcher 3. Since Cyberpunk is gonna be futuristic, their next game could be another fantasy... or Dune. Or something completely different/obscure. I just wouldn´t be able get excited about Witcher 4.


Also I like when some game series is finished at a high note and there is no possibility of disappointing sequel. I´d love Witcher series to be remembered as great trilogy.

So what are your thoughts?

I like very much the Witcher universe now if it's for different kind of experience that's good. If it's the same experience that's not something boring that's good too. The Studio writers will figure out that I think.

Maybe moving onwards to something else then coming back to the Witcher IP in a few years could be a good idea too.

Personally i would like a stealth RPG based on the farseer novels. But i'm someone who wants another withcher game IF they make Ciri the protagonist.

I'll pass on another witcher game, its just not my setting. I like variety and new IP would give more to choose from.

What I would like if they created something new, something that involves ancient China, Japan, India or Arabic world.

I want another The Witcher video game so I voted yes but it has to be released in 2020 or 2022 with someone new since Geralt of Rivia's story has ended in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. 2015 Cyberpunk 2077 comes out. Give CD Projekt RED lots of time to work on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Cyberpunk 2077 and then The Witcher 4 or whatever the next The Witcher video game coming out years later will be called after The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt comes out next year. I don't like seeing video games being rushed.

The witcher franchize is my favorite but i dont want to see number 4.
There is always a chance to pull of a "batman and robin" sequel.
and besides it wont feel the same without geralt even with ciri and i doubt it will be the case...

I would love some different setting, we get cyberpunk but there is lot's of different styles i would want to see, imagine game based on Isaac Asimov stuff.

I want more games in TW Universe. It is a great complex world, with a lot of possible stories, as in the past of the Witcher saga, and in the future. We'll have our ice age, Sapkowski gave us another 100 years of a timeline, and it would be such a waste just to abandon this world after Geralt saga. I hope CDPR will continue to make games set in TW Universe, even if they might decide to take a break from it after TW3 (it won't make me too happy though).

I don't know, but one thing I'm sure is that I dont want one game per year, as in others IP (as Assasin Creed).

I would rather have them take a break (which seems that way) and concentrate on the cyberpunk universe. They can always make a witcher game some years down the line later with Ciri being the most interest or even a blank slate one like in upcoming CP77 forging your own destiny. Now that would be awesome.

BUT...

Well, first, to keep the forum going otherwise it may become sluggish between releases.
And, second, just to make sure CDPR know what we might want. They plan in advance, and with TW3 coming out next year, some of CDPR employers like 3D artists and story-writers may become somewhat available to draft future projects.

I'll vote yes but a cautious yes, because i do find it hard to imagine a future witcher game where the main character isn't a witcher or is a witcher but one that isn't Geralt. The universe interest me though, so if they can make it work & not stomp all over whatever conclusion the player gets in the final part of Geralt's escapades then i'm in.

The team probably a "little bit" tired working on the same universe, over and over again.
So, i prefer to play a game based on their own new IP.

And I am quite disappointed seeing how many people do not want another Witcher game. Especially given that CDPR are able to work on two IPs simultaneously. Even with Sapkowsky's 7 books and CDPR's 3 games it is still nowhere near becoming a boring and overused setting.

In order to adapt something in entertainment industry, you need to buy rights to do it, and not all rights are for sale. It is not like adapting a stray cat, you know.

Ah my question was more of rhetorical in the sense since we have already lot in our plates lol
In any case, I do want more wicher games but wouldn't mind a break now after a big third one

I want more games in TW universe, where I'll play a different the main character (Maybe we will know the story of Vernon? Or something else?).
But I think, that Cyberpunk will be more important after premiere TW3 and devs will focus on this universe in the future.
