Mouse Problems in the Main Menu

I just bought the Witcher 2 today in the Steam Summer sale,, but when I load it and go to the main menu i click my mouse and the cursor goes to the center of the screen, and I can't input anything else in the game, mouse or arrow keys. Is there any way I to fix this? I'm using windows 8 and 2 monitors if that matters.

I have the same issue. I've seen this problem pop up on a number of different forums. A lot of people are suffering from this. Restarting my computer works for me, but it does not fix the issue for everyone, and I don't want to have to restart every time I want to play the game. I haven't found any permanent fix for this anywhere.

I seemed to fix the problem by opting out of the Beta version of steam
