Movement while in guard

Movement while in guard

Basically, the idea is you tap a key to engage guard and Geralt now walks side to side or backwards using WASD. The same could be accomplished quite easily by holding guard key down ( I map it to CTRL) and then using WASD to move him. This would be preferable to turning your back and reorienting yourself, no? It would also add an element that was already in TW1, and lastly, this is what a swordsman would do when confronted. They wouldn't run around, roll, and run willy nilly to find position. Love the combat in TW2, but this might make it even better. Opinions?

Bang on, against the
Endrega Queen
and similar high value single targets this would be damned useful and make flanking much easier. I'd implement this only after locking on a target so that when fighting groups you can still do the freeflow, picking off the strays, combat.

well I haven't played TW2 to post a full answer that is based on experience, but what I can from other video games, having the option would be really cool, and fun. Would give a perfect opportunity to "lock" on a target and not show his back to him when moving.

Damn where do I get that game?

Yeah, that's the idea I'm talking about, only in TW2, we'd be switching from guard/no guard more often due to the mobs we face.

I'm hoping GOG release Severance at some point, my old disc's getting worn out.

I agree that locking on a target and circling around would add some depth. While activated you could actually concentrate on blocking/parrying/riposte more, now it's more chaotic.

Also, Severance is such an awesome game! Chopping off limbs was never so much fun!

I really hope GOG will release it at some point.
