I just finished watching the first season of the Netflix show Marco Polo (2014). The show isn't very historically accurate but if you simply take it at face value (and treat it as a piece of fiction) then it is quite enjoyable. The acting, dialogue, scenery and script were all well done.

Battle of the Five Armies is full of action. I knew what would happened to few characters since I read the book, but Peter Jackson know how to bring my tears out.

Very good movie in my humble opinion.

Was forced to watch Exodus a few days ago. The best part about it was its visuals, cinematography, soundtrack….and that’s probably it. Prince of Egypt is ten times better.

Story was telling too much instead of showing and it was pacing was way too fast. By the first few minutes, the movie was already confusing on where it wanted to go.
Also instead of a blue flaming bush, God is represented as a child. He yells and shouts a lot that it seems like the plagues are just angry tantrums that he isn't getting his way.

EDIT: Not going to spam with another post, but I forgot to write down another mention. Rewatched Batman Under the Red Hood and it is still a really solid film. Favorite DC animated film of mine.

Here’s one of my favorite scenes, if it piques interest:

My all time favorite movies would be "Blow -2001" and "Requiem for a dream-2001".

As for TV series, I've loved South Park, Game of Thrones, LOST. These are my all time favorites.

I've recently started watching The Black Mirror series and I have to say, the series are quite fascinating. Gripping stories, all the "What if...."s everyone thinks of every once in a while.

Saw it last night. While not bad and I still enjoyed it, it certainly had a lot of issues that made it glaringly clear that the series should have been 2 movies at most. Unlike all the other movies (Hobbit and LOTR), there was such an imbalance of action versus substance this time around.

♦ Very little time at Dol Guldur. That thread wrapped up too quickly compared to the other movies and the rest of this movie. You going to have Saruman say he is going to take on Sauron and then not follow up on that in any way? Here's hoping there is more in the Extended Edition.

♦ The CG of Legolas looked pretty bad at times, definitely hitting that uncanny valley point.

♦ The fight with Bolg went on way too long. It seemed like Azog's fight was shorter which didn't make much sense.

♦ The pandering of 'throw back' lines such as 'The eagles are coming!' (No, they are already there) and 'You must find this ranger. His name is Strider. As for his true name, you'll have to find that out yourself.' (Oh come on, that was just unnecessary).

Also, this was pretty entertaining if anyone hasn't seen it.

Benedict Cumberbatch is in every possible huge budget film in past 2 years. His fame will expire soon.

Okay, is it odd that Beorn made me think of Kinley? x D
Wish we could have seen more of him and the Eagles, but it was still a good movie...

So, how about that Korra ending? It's sad to see that show go. Nickelodeon really didn't let them do it quite as much justice as it should've.

♦ This season spent too much time on Korra coming to terms with things. I'm all for character development, but overcoming a hurdle just to be reset right after was kinda frustrating.
♦ Bout time Varick and Zhu Li finally 'did the thing'.
♦ They did a decent job bringing everything to a close.
♦ Korrasami! I hope they expand further on that in a set of comics eventually like they did with the ATLA's graphic novels. They seem like a great pairing.
♦ Poor Naga! She was just kinda abandoned this final season....

Still undergoing the withdrawal of Sons of Anatchy ending, one of the best shows ever. Also The Newsroom ended.

It's not very good at all, the Penguin's just about the only tolerable part, and his plotline doesn't really kick in until later episodes. Waste of a potentially interesting premise.

I'm loving it. It has this pseudo-40's noir style which I'm a fan of. Hate me if you wish, but I like it. :veryangry:

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

Since I not found a thread about this I decided to start one on my own.

Maybe the reason why there is no such thread is that the lightsabre debate already talked the movie to death.

Anyway here are also some of the leaked concept artworks which were first considered as fake but turned out to be true.

Beware, spoilers contained

I assume the lead artist quite liked Darth Nihlus' design in the Sith Lords.

Edit: Only really interested in Kreia in that whole universe, there were two good movies and the rest were sub par crap in my opinion. No offence, live long and prosper and all that.
