Movies / TV Shows!

We watched The Beekeeper yesterday. If you like Jason Statham movies, you are most likely going to love this one. It has been a while since the last time I saw an actual good movie that made me laugh.

Trailer includes some spoilers that at least for me were some of the best parts in movie (I didn't see it beforehand), so don't watch it if you want to avoid that.

Looked back through the thread to see if this one had been mentioned. Yes, way back in 2012 (this is an OLD thread !):

I stumbled across a 1986 Czech film called Krysař ("The Rat Catcher"), English name "The Pied Piper". It's an awesome stop-motion movie that communicates through symbolism rather than speaking. It's not quite as good as Mad God in my opinion, but on the other hand, it also doesn't require several shots of bourbon before it makes sense.

So... Netflix just teased a possible Edgerunners Season 2 a few hours ago.

Optimistically, one could think they will release one last update as soon as the series launches. Who knows.

I answer here, a bit more appropriate I think. I remember that some assumed there won't be a second season (or a sequel, or a new serie, or whatever), but it seem to me that it will
I'm so hyped!!

This clip alone made me a lot more excited for season 2 ever since I watched it for the first time. Arcane's quality of animation and cinematography never disappoint. Just hoping that they'll do time skips convincing enough and wrap up the story in a well-written way, considering it's the final season and so many things are gonna happen in just 9 episodes.

Yesterday I watched The Empress again. I really like that short series of "dress drama". Lots of beautiful buildings and beautiful clothing (beautiful, not comfortable). Also the actual story is good. It is also very easy German to listen, if one wishes to get familiar with the language. Anyhoo, I was more than happy to hear that the season 2 is finally coming on November 22th! Yay!

Finished watching The Penguin miniseries. It's basically a version of the Sopranos set in Gotham. I think the writing and acting are excellent. The final episode was awesome. I'm really looking forward to Batman kicking the Penguin's butt the next time they meet.

Finished watching the third season of From. I'm a bit torn. By now, they should be starting to meaningfully move the revelations toward something sensible. The season definitely ended with some revelations about what's going on, but they don't really explain much except maybe, on some dimensions, about three or four of the people who are stuck there, wherever "there" happens to be. And the season introduced some new mysteries.

But based on what did get revealed at the end of the season, I'm becoming more convinced that the name "From" is intended both to convey its English meaning, but is also a veiled reference to the German "fromm".

The Penguin on HBO Max is very good. The showrunners understood the task:
This villain is not suppose to be a sympathetic character.
