I thought so, I felt disgusted looking at the trailer and what they did with Jack. Totally butchered what made the character great :/

So I woke up this morning to the hammering of a piledriver digging up my street, the buggers ! And I must still be suffering from that movie, because when I called for reinforcements against the army of fluorescent jackets outside this is what I got:

Love it ! and yep... I won :)

Guess who's been cast as Lex Luthor on the upcoming Batman vs Superman movie. It's Mark Zuckerberg, just kidding it's Jesse Eisenberg.

In the week of Facebook's 10th anniversary, Mark Zuckerberg has been cast as Lex Luthor. I'm finding the hilarity too much to take.

On a serious note, he is a great and very underrated actor. About time he shines! Now only time and the movie will tell. And Jeremy Irons is legendary, epic for Alfred! Very happy about that :D

He is a good actor, no question... but as Luthor? Lex has always had a particular look, and Jesse just ain't it, not by a few feet length & breadth :p

and he always acts the nervous type doesnt he? Luthor nervous?

I dunno, I like to give a film the benefit of the doubt until its out, but this ones casting worries me. Superman is decent, Batman im not convinced... if the films loosely based on Frank Millers Dark Knight Returns - which I hope, the clash of the godlike vs the Pinnacle of Man is incredible in that book. - then Bats in particular needs to have serious gravitas.

BTW: I've been hearing really good reports about the animated Justice League:War... word is it leaves Assemble in its dust ! It's out were I live next week I think.

I don't know @Kudos, was Gene Hackman a Lex Luthor of the comics ? He was rather short and not so handsome, yet is still fondly remembered. Hell, I've made a video about the this whole casting news : ] I'm actually happy, that they are attracting strong talent for the movie.

And I think I will be making a review of this Justice League: War movie - didn't like it that much, I'm afraid : / Ughh... the new 52.

Good point ! I guess when I imagine them all I'm thinking comics first, overriding any film made. Stillgood point about that & strong talent, I could be overreacting... but does it not feel like it bit of a weird mix to you?

Well I've only hearsay about JLW, and I know its half the length... but I was told the dialogue is pretty snappy, the battles were "intense" apparently, and its a fairly full crew, more or less the lot (no GA / AM).

edit: to be clear i'm not an anti-affleck rager :p

I'm a fan of choral music, and the guys in the big hats are the best there is. (Formally the Alexandrov Ensemble.) Here are two concerts where they make music the old-fashioned way:

Ettelbruck, Luxembourg ( 2011 ):

80th Anniversary Concert ( 2008 ):

Personally I haven't been a fan of the actors being cast in the upcoming Batman / Superman movie. While yes many of the selected actors are very prominent figures, I just can't picture any of them in the specific role they are in. Though I won't be the judge and only time will tell how it will turn out. Though to be honest I am getting more and more skeptical about this movie.

@Guy N'wah; Nice one ! I actually needed to know that... I wasn't sure which one exactly it was recorded the Red Oktober, Wikipedia lists two, and doesn't say which was responsible. But those guys sure can sing.

I like so many types of music, it really is simpler to say I like good music, since there really only are 2 kinds :p

But big bands / choirs do have a power all of their own.

and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm even developing a taste for Opera now, slowly. The younger me would not believe that !

And that has to be my favourite National Anthem (@4mins Ettelbruck)

You're quite correct about Irons, he is a great actor and I can see him as Alfred for sure. Loved him in The Mission, fantastic movie. The writer Goyer can be good too, I say 'can' because i'm not sure he's been totally consistent. Sorry @Luxorek; I don't think I can shake the same unease @chewin3; feels.

But wait... whaaa? Bruce is an asshole? You not a fan then I take it... i'd say hes likely my favourite superhero. One of the oldest (~90 odd now I guess), no superpowers just determination & demons of the inner kind, plus a bottomless pit of cash of course.

I stopped following years ago, so only vaguely aware of DC52, but still have my old collection and dip in occasionally. If theres one JLAish story i'd like to see animated it would be Kingdom Come. If someone could do justice to Alex Ross' epic painting in animation it would be a masterpiece.

He's actually a brilliant choice since no one saw him coming as Lex literally. Luthor is one of the most brilliant and ego driven geniuses out there, and Jesse has proven he can play a ego jerk even in his sleep. It's about about physical manliness here, it's more a war of wits. I for one am excited for this.

Also, Lex was not always bald, despite him being popularized and known as such in the past few decades (well similar to how hardly the masses know how batman among others were before than their current 'dark gritty' so called form) These iconic characters have been for over 70 years, and have only been able to because of vivid imagination. Expect him to sport red hair before going bald probably down the line :D

I really don't know what to think with this film anymore but I still have high hopes. It is the direction and tone of the film that made Affleck accept the role in the first place so I think it will be awesome.

I don't remember saying that Bruce is an asshole in my video @Kudos : ] I quite like Batman, like almost everyone. I said that Jesse Eisenberg has already played a rich, smart, bastard before in The Social Network, which makes his Luthor easier to imagine.

Not a big watcher of TV these days, but would recommend BBC's Sherlock to everyone. Wonderfully written, brilliantly directed and performed - its well worth seeking out.

My daughter has a massive crush on Benedict Cumberbatch, so we can't even think of missing these. Sparklingly done, especially Martin Freeman as Watson, which was a very difficult part to cast.

Aye, I dipped into a brief BBC live chat with Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss after the conclusion of season 3 and they admitted to accidently casting the two most popular actors in the world as Holmes and Watson. Made me giggle.

Anyone familiar with The Legend of Korra ? I was a regular watcher of the original Avatar: The Last Airbender and just couldn't resist watching the new series. It's surprisingly good - beautifully animated and voice acted. The story is so-so, but with 12 episodes they could only do so much I guess. I recommend it to all animation fans over here.
