I do believe the satirical advertising, that in my view were central to the overall impact of the original Robocop, didn't make it into the reboot.I'D BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR!
@~Fandango~; posted the only reviewer I give any credence to, he knows his stuff, and never seems to shirk from constructive criticism when its due, he has attained a respectable position without buttering up the stars...
Too many American movies include the subplot of a boy discovering love / respect for his father. While curious it does no harm, but this trend to reboot everything is wasteful, and tedious, and what does it say about us that 14 years into the new millennium we're still trawling the old for entertainment. Theres almost nothing in this sector that is original, whether the cowardice of the bean counting suits, or a surfeit of entertainment diluting the creative process in individuals, I dont know... but it results in the endless repetition of classics that have been neutered.
The new Robocop may be entertaining, but i'd rather have had something new.
