Multiplayer and what you think it could be

+
Agreed maybe end of 2021

I got this for Cyberpunk lol. Learning that they are looking to adding multiplayer was just a bonus
That How I'm picturing it but there is something that is missing and that is the combat zone. It's part of Night City and the name literally means what it says. There is no police. Police won't even bother going out there. That could be a pvp zone
The foundation is absolutely there and I'm pretty sure that's a reason it wasn't even close to being included considering the state of the game on certain hardware and the consoles. And would most likely be a totally different team that works on it

It would be fire to have scenarios to play through that were more TTRPG based in mechanics kinda like divinity 2 with the dungeon master mode - though I suppose that could be tricky to do with real time action combat of this game.
Like missions with different parts / objectives for different classes that can then branch off. Like if you had a tech guy they could open some doors, if you had a person with a lot of cool they could sneak through somewhere to hack something to help you get by an area. IDK highdeas

Classes are an integral part of the core game tho but maybe not in the sense of you picking a class but designed around builds still. As right now I thought it was silly I could be a hacking one person army.

The game is way too easy in general. The enemies need to be seriously dangerous for multiplayer to actually be worthwhile. Most of all they need to build a full pathing mesh for the whole city so that the enemies can hunt you down no matter where you go, and then give them an AI sort of like how Fallout 4 does stealth, where when enemies get attacked by an invisible target they at least move in the direction the shot came from, or start shooting into the general area where they suspect an enemy.

Obviously weapon damage can't scale as out of control as it does right now. Targets with heavy cybernetics and ballistic armor need to be much more resilient and actually able to absorb concentrated fire from multiple players for a while.

Especially netrunning needs an overhaul to introduce some enemies that are hardened against hacking, making it so that enemy buildings have dwellers and so on that pose a serious risk to you if you don't pace yourself. Enemies need the ability to go dark and turn their wireless connection off while they chase you down etc.

Things that attack enemies through walls just need to go unless they can implement a system that lets enemies fire back, and even that would be kind of boring because without terrain you're not exactly playing a fun shooter.

The pen and paper system does have classes, but they actually don't determine what skills you have for the most part, they just give you one or two special features on your character. Most of those features also have nothing to do with direct combat, but are much more bigger picture kind of things. You could have an entire party full of rockerboys and still have completely different characters.

Ya it would be. Wouldn't it be cool to play
Cyber Roles-page-001.jpg

If I had friends that would enjoy a TTRPG I would deff have played by now, tried some online places but seems too strict in terms of meeting times and required sitting time - something I would be more open to IRL (though I guess covid now kills that anyways lol)
Those are the classes for Cyberpunk which are completely missing from the game. Granted V was already a pre determined protagonist

I know I got it lol

I do agree with CDPR that some of the classes wouldn't lend itself great to a video game, but maybe we could have made them part of the background story for bonuses like streetkid that was tryna be a rockerboy (more cool as a start( - or corpo who had dreams of being a fixer (more tech or intelligence) etc

I don't see a lot of talk about this so I'm probably one of the few who are interested in what they have in mind for doing multiplayer. Personally, I hope they plan on creating a class/role system for it instead of being able to be everything like the single player game. I would like to see them utilize the classes, stats and skills from the source game into the multiplayer.

I would still like to see the open world we have now but with missions that require multiple people. Maybe my guy is all combat and I need a netrunner, better go find someone.

It's kind of funny that they would give the Cyberpunk 2020 Core Rulebook instead of Cyberpunk Red as part of the pre-order package and there is zero similarities between 2077 and 2020 in terms of core gameplay. Cyberpunk Red ties in with 2077 better than 2020

My ideas/suggestions

- Classes/Roles - Solo, Netrunner, Nomad, Corpo ect
- Better Stat System - Proper use of stats to skills. Cool is not a stealth stat or even used in that sense
- Better Skills System - More choices of skills such as Driving, Martial Arts. Lockpicking,
- Reputation/Street Cred - The higher the rep the more you are known but maybe it's not necessarily for good reasons. This would be your character level system
- Humanity/Empathy - Getting cybered up comes at a cost as you start losing humanity and slip closer to cyberpsychosis
- Faction/Gang Reputation System - The more you attack/help a gang or do things against them/for them in their territory you start gain faction rep
- Better Weapon/Armor/Cybernetic Choices

What do you guys think that multiplayer is going to be like and what would you like to see?

I picture the online to be a copy of GTA online in the same style of open world we have now. Just hopefully with actual stuff to do.
They just opened a whole universe i hope they really take it above and beyond.

...

Multiplayer would never work in this game because they would have to remove all time slow effects. Those things can only function in a single-player experience. Those effects are a huge part of how this game functions, everything from active slow-downs for cyberware showing that you are 'speeding up' to how the game semi-pauses to help make the quick-hacking system usable at all.

Just add coop play, no need MP. Mostly MP will ruin game experience because too many trolls out there. You see NMS, in the end most players lock online coop or interaction. At first many people requested it but later nobody use it.

Invite my friends into my Night City while I'm hosting it might be fun. But I don't want some strangers ram me with their car just for fun.

Talking about multiplayer before game is complete is imho waste of time, yeah it's same like talking about potential DLC's and expansions, but we don't know yet what's their plan about multiplayer. But I love talking about nonsense. soo..

If you ask me, I'd love to see something between GTA and Destiny 2, something we can play right now but... better, way better. Making builds, doing "heists", maybe some raid against corpo, wraiths etc. Problem is if their goal is make better game than Destiny or GTA or Borderlands or whatever.. They have to make better game with

things like:
- buying apartments and customizing them
- tmog system
- shit-ton of random events like racing, hand to hand fights, escort VIP etc
- reputations system
- good balance
- shit-ton of activities
- vehicle tuning
- good progression system
- focused loot (in the end it's must have in loot and shoot game)
- reworked talent system with perks
- good servers
- good anticheat
- active game support (very frequently updated game is must have, something like Destiny 2 where you have every new season new small/big update (3months))
- active communication with community and listen feedback
- and much, much more

Things we don't want to see:
- Pay-to-win microtransactions (dot)
- Game we play right now but in multiplayer
That's all, I don't care if there are some cosmetics or season pass (I love season pass, I want it here).

They will never change their plans to release content. I said that before and I hope I don't have to do it again - plans for expansions/DLC's are planned way before game was released and they will not drastically delay it because game sucks on 2 platforms, that's just not going to happen.

That means we'll see multiplayer reveal this year for sure, it was already planned for Q1 2021, but most likely delayed till game is in better state, so I expect Q2 2021, maybe teaser on Xbox E3 briefing. And release date 2023, which was plan we heard before. What I think is biggest problem is GTAVI release, I wouldn't be surprised if in 2023 Rockstar release new GTA game and I doubt it'll suck and if CDPR want their GTA Online, they have to give us something very special.

I'm in the camp of no multiplayer, at least until they can fix the bugs and give us a more fleshed out game. I'd rather see them put the effort into improving AI, adding more life to some of the more empty areas, adding better (or in the case of water just adding) physics, etc. There's a ton of things they could do that would help put this game over the top, but adding muliplayer to it as it is now would not be one of them.

i hope they implement many lootboxes with all common uncommon rare epic and legendary loot in there. I already saved $250 so i can spend specifically on those lootboxes. I want to unbox epic bra or legendary panties

if it's open world PvP oh boy.

open multiplayer screen, select a night city gang, all players in that gang are "friendlies" and you go and try to blow up the other gangs/players.

I'm simply hoping for Co-Op. Nothing else. A fully integrated Co-Op system. You can go through the entire game, cut scenes and all, shared loot, two of every unique item in the game. A 100% Co-Op experience. I can complete the entire game inside another persons game. Basically the exact same game, only now another person can come inside your game.

That's all I want. I'm sure other people want something more, but for me, that's enough.

like Borderlands ?

Problem with any multiplayer of any kind is that they would have to remove anything and everything that slows time for one player.

They need to fix the issues with the single player first before they even think about multiplayer, there are countless small bugs and glitches the most annoying of which i sometimes just randomly die out of nowhere, always with an electric shock, even though i have immunity to shock. its always when falling a short distance. I assume its part of the fall damage system. But its super annoying and makes no sense at all.
