My favourite game, now dead

I think CDPR went a little to far in some of their changes in some areas with the 2.0 update, and WAAY to far in some others. And if I had to summarize: they REALLY don't want you to feel powerful anymore....PARTICULARLY as a stealth hacking build.
  1. The in-game economy in the game is, staggeringly, even more pointless and useless than it was before.
It is just...so incredibly poorly designed if you want to use the money you're using to ever buy anything useful because you remain simply not allowed to buy fun toys until you've upped your Street Cred/Level or whatever.

They somehow made this aspect worse by not even showing you what you don't qualify to purchase yet or let you know what you need to get to street cred or level wise for you to get it.

And then they made it even worse than that still by not even being able to buy basic components to use to do crafting or upgrading. It is just kind of flat impossible to ever either buy or earn anything more than at most moderately useful for your current level.

What is the point of still having the ability to get endless quickhack components to craft quickhack upgrades, if you can't upgrade your cyberdeck to the rarity tier that will let you use any of the upgraded ones? I'm sitting here with about 10 blue tier quickhacks that I still can't use because I have to wait until the game decides it is finally okay for me to have a blue tier cyberdeck to slot them into because I can find and buy the crafting components for them no problem, but I'm still waiting for the game to start dropping blue tier components to use in any significant number on my cyberdeck or for the Rippers to finally have them in stock.
  1. They've added level scaling into the game. Which is always one of my least favorite things.
These two things combined really make it feel like you're jogging through chest deep water trying to progress. Gaining a new level feels pretty damn immaterial.

And don't get me started on how utterly useless hacking (in a cyberpunk game!) now is.

I do get that it desperately needed a nerf, but it is mostly flat awful now and has next to no synergy with a stealth build anymore because most hacks that you might use on an enemy are "traceable" now.

Which, sadly, means that if you use hacking to take out an enemy, then about ten seconds later you've been traced and the other 10 enemies in the room now know exactly where you are. This applies to waaaay to many hacks. Even something like Reboot Optics just doesn't work anymore with stealth builds because it is traceable.

So if you want to be a stealthy hacker, then have fun painstakingly using "Distract Enemies" and "Bait" to move them about so you can sneak up behind them and take them out by hand....over and over and over and over again....

100,000% this. Wonderful tweak that should be made immediately. Because hacking SHOULD be a stealthy approach and right now the stealth options of hacking are incredibly limited because nearly everything other than stuff like Distract Enemies or Bait starts a global trace from ALL other enemies in the area.
I miss suppressors on revolvers with a few perks in cool shinobi & the reflex pistol perk that negates effective range making a snipy Archangel plus I had All orange damage buff mods on it but you can't mod Iconics anymore. They gutted a good game I don't even play anymore its sitting in its case on the shelf collecting dust. R.I.P Cyberpunk CDPR offically killed you.

If y'all hate the game so much...why are you here? What is the point exactly? You hate the game now? Don't play it and go do something that makes you happy. Constant negativity is not healthy my dudes...Do I like all the changes that came with 2.0? Nah, but overall the game has been improved upon. Did I want more? Sure. But it is what it is.

because was never alive. Patch after patch went from one dumb choice to another
Their most likely getting hype from all these new players or paying off IGN for good reviews something EA is notorious for. I remember stacking armadillo mods on all my Clothes and took minimal damage never went below 75% health but grenades and food had weight limits, next patch 1.45 changed perk system not happy but adapted Liked the Regen in combat ability grenade and food became weightless woohoo NADE for everyone patch 2.0 reset skill tree shuffles tree perks with no reset to attributes this pissed me off a lot Pistols, Precision Rifles and Sniper rifles move to cool. Grenades and Heals have a cool down timer Boo junk shops no longer sell components rendering them useless other than to sell shit. V Feels like a Crippled Veteran nowhere near as deadly as they once where I used to bully maxtac with my monowire build now they are like trying to demolish a brickwall with a toy squeek hammer reminds me of the guards from The Witcher 3 stupidly overpowered. Stamina To Shoot is my major gripe I get melee but shooting its like they want this game to fail and doing a damn good job at failing from my point of view

The point of being here complaining is for hopes the devs look at the criticism and make some changes that make can make the whole community happy with some compromises of course I'm happy with a few things but not everything.

That sword cuts both ways. I'm here during time I should be playing the game because I keep turning it off.

If you love the game so much why waste your time even reading our negativity let alone commenting on it? Were you confused as to the content of a thread titled "MY FAVORITE GAME, NOW DEAD"?

Let people vent, judge not.

This post is equally as ridiculous as yours, and we are both wasting our time, but we like it I guess right?

Why am I here? For three things:

1: To let CDPR know that as a customer that has purchased this game twice (PS and PC), and preordered and purchased PL. I am not at all happy with their combat changes.

2: in the hopes that after feedback I hear about some balance/gameplay changes in an upcoming patch.

3: Treading water until a perfect (here is something that recreates the 1.63 netrunner combat experience) mod gets released.

This is funny. "You hate it, why are you here?" 'You love it, why are you here?'

Here we are :)

To be honest, I wouldn't have so much hope on that...
I remember players were very vocals when they nerfed Ping (no longer allow to hack through walls), about clothe mods and clothe mod slots, about mod which must be at leat, at the same rarity as clothes and so on... Pretty much each times they "rebalanced" the gameplay.
But I could be wrong, but except about the stash access on bikes (removed in 1.5, then reintroduced in 1.6), they never changed their mind about changes they made.

I hope CDPR will change skill check scalling, but honestly, I doubt...

I remember some players said they won't play anymore until CDPR change their mind, and I'm don't know if they really stopped playing, but if they did, they never played the game since :D

i played only very hard since 1.5 version. at lvl 60 iconic contamination deals maximum 7 (seven) damage to any random thug at the streets. netrunners were killed by beloved tracing and blessed level scaling. but if they replace level scaling with some good system (they will not) netrunner build is kinda ok even with that overclock mode which doent work with holo calls, so you cant use it while stealing cars or listening holo calls from ncpd, fixers or anyone else. it is funny that i have to update cyberware and everything else just to keep my damage at the same level every level up.

same problems with every build i tried. you can get more than 1500 armor but random thugs with smart weapons will force you to hide or use meds. i have 2 starts 2.0 and 2.1. one deals twice stealth damage with the same build and i dont know why. but i switched it to easy once because i couldnt complete johnny's chase in his memories at lvl 60, i got killed too quickly, sometimes i wasnt able to make even 2 shots.

gameplay is competitive now, that's true. but it is croockedly competitive. (sorry for my english)

Your english is fine. Better than most even.

Yeah, I'm finding that my netrunning damage is really weird across two chars with identical builds. Don't know if there's some hidden mechanic based upon backgrounds chosen?

Either way, At the very least they need to make netrunning damage more consistant (or at least explain why identical builds can get wildly different results against the same enemies), make netrunning have the same effectiveness as guns for levels under 30, and nerf the net tracing.

I don't mind the tracing itself; what I mind is that it's no longer tied to certain NPCs and sometimes continues when all nearby npcs are dead alerting other enemies much further away or sometimes spawning in additional reinforcements.

At least then netrunning would be fun again.
For now, I'm tabling netrunning in favor of a sniper/pistol build and pretty much doing only what is aboslutely required for netrunning (other than opening doors and hacking access points.) It's a fun way to play (but not as fun as stealth netrunning used to be) but honestly nothing I can't get better from a host of other games.

I had around 60 perks before and now only 30 or so. This is berceuse the sweeping changes they made to the skills left me with a lot of uninteresting (to me as I am not a net runner) choices (lost a lot of the passive crit ones I loved) and completely nerfed Satori that use to be the best dam katana in the game (not anymore).
Same with Pam's sniper gun.

So I just carry the 30 unused perks all thru PL and mag dump the opponents (they eventual die).

To bad that is not an achievement.

Edit: strange how they seem to have pushed the player skill ahead of the character skill by making so many of the new perks NOT really passive.
I have a bad feeling the changes are related to PvP type multiplayer for their next Cyberpunk game.

PLEASE don't give them horrible ideas. Lol.

I am already convinced they take everything players say they don't want as ideas for "features" to implement and changes to make.

I might misunderstand what do you mean, but I remember people criticized the old perk system which were mostly just passive effects and simply small % added to each other. Never bothered me (not a surprise, it was the same as in TW3^^), but now, when you pick up a perk, you can "feel it" while playing.
complexly nerfed Satori that use to be the best dam katana in the game (not anymore).
Yep, satori was nerfed, but it remain a pretty good katana. The one I used in my two playthroughs in 2.0/2.01 until I get Byakko from wakako, which is the best (for me). Quite good against bosses, Oda and Sasquatch in particular... I threw Nehan first to inflict bleeding and switch to Satori to heal myself :)

They're way ahead of us, no encouragement required ;)

I feel a little like I'm crazy, thinking that it took on a very PvP/MMO vibe - but then other people refer to it as well and I feel less so.

I've been using the same basic build since 1.0 in PL, and it's worked fairly well as a brawler/netrunner that uses tech weapons and gorilla arms so I can do all the quests easily on all the difficulties. I've found that hacking got shuffled around, but if you get in the habit of using Sonic Shock first on a target, then do whatever your favorite combo is, quick hacking is actually still fairly strong, especially if you're on a build that can really take advantage of overclock like the one that follows. While I will miss being able to walk into a group of enemies, throw out a ton of KOs with suicide and System Collapse (formerly System Reset ) and basically be a walking engine of death and destruction, IMO that was a horribly broken (albeit insanely fun) way to play the game that trivialized Very Hard.

Far, far too much rudeness here recently.

The thing is, those who complain that netrunning was overpowered and needed nerfing don't realise this happens with other builds like Sandevistan and Blades. I'm doing it now, jumping in the middle of 5-6 enemies, triggering the Sandi and killing everything before they even have a chance to react.

Netdecks are still broken even on low investment.

Tier 4 Contagion + any source of burn damage if you wanna go loud. It's hard to beat. Enemies chain explode and erupt in a spray of blood and body parts when you use a tech bolt shot or a thermal grenade.

T3 or 4 Cripple movement as well as Memory Wipe enable finishers including stealth takedowns mid combat.

This has been carrying me through the game with 9 int and no perks in quickhacking. I'm a tech sniper, Nekomata is my favorite weapon, my body stat is 4. I'm utterly dominant with quickhacks in close combat on very hard difficulty, and I'm thinking of speccing overclock just for an extra couple of ram now and then but I don't need it.

Oh and my cyberware build is pure defensive stats, no sweat on damage but you could tailor it up even higher.

Actually if you wanted to do this right you'd go body for a Satara build and slot a legendary dismemberment chance mod with the perk in shotguns that spreads dismemberment to other enemies. Use a Raven Microcyber deck for the instant spread of contagion.

Contagion into bolt shot, you've poisoned, shocked, burnt, blown up, and dismembered anything near you and you can just keep doing it. Your only challenge is not killing civvies if you care about that.

We are not lacking for power in hybrid builds. It's a bit boring actually.

My build for anyone that cares.

Quick and dirty Satara version.

I hope @Crimsomrider wouldn't mind I use his video, but :
To me, it seem to be the same with a Netrunner build and quick hacks (at level 18). i.e wipe out an entire group of enemies in no time before they even have a chance to react...
I mean, you can't jump on 5-6 enemies, activating your Sandy and wipe out an entire group early game (yes at some point, you can, but not early game). In the same way you can't do the same with QHs early game.
But at some point, with both build, it's possible ;)
