My Opinion On the Graphics (Civil, No Drama please.)
Okay so my honest opinion on the graphics is this.. yes they are very mid-life PS3 (even on a PS4). I went back and played Uncharted 3 a little before this and even IT had better textures (albeit a different game completely).... BUT.. that is not detracting me from this game. Even from just the start, I can kinda see that the reason for these small sacrifices in places was to be able to put more detail IN it. The REASON for the graphical loss was for the amount of OTHER detail and 'thinking power' this game has to go through.
The writing, the environment, the atmosphere, the NPCs.. the amount of DETAIL all going on at the same time here is just brilliant. There is so many things in this game going GOOD for it, that it's just totally possible to overlook the 'sacrifices' they had to make here. It's a fantastic game with a SUPER... SUUUPER detailed story and that is just staggering to me. I'm completely able to overlook the graphical sacrifices... you guys who CANCELLED your pre-orders (if you even actually did) I don't know why you would do so... this game's story is just .... wow. It's going to bring back feelings nostalgic to when you played FF7 or Chrono Trigger for the first time... it's a new age in gaming.. please stop letting 'graphics' over power your thought process here, just enjoy the game for what it is... isn't that what we used to do back in the 90s? Stop being so critical.
The developers have made a classic story-telling adventure here... just let go.. breathe, and enjoy it. It's fantastic. I promise, and I've only played a PORTION.
