My reaction as a parent to the downgrade-gate
Seeing all the threats of canceling preorders, never trusting developers again etc due to "downgrade" really reminded me of something my oldest kid used to do when she was 3 years old... I would ask her what she'd want for breakfast, she would ask for honey-nut cheerios. I'd bring it to her in a princess bowl and then sometimes she would just start crying and refuse it eat it. Why? Because I brought her food in a WRONG princess bowl... So there's the food that she asked for but no, she wouldn't eat it because the bowl was "wrong".
Are we still getting to play the sequel so many of us so dearly wanted? Yes.
Are we getting an awesome story? Yes.
Are we still getting a HUGE game? Yes.
Are we getting a huge variety of monsters? Yes.
Are we getting a gigantic amount of meaningful side quests? Yes.
Are we getting a great looking game? Yes.
Are some of us acting like 3 year old brats? Sadly... Yes.
Are you seriously canceling preorders to a game that's being called one of the best RPGs or even best games ever made? The game that's getting rave reviews? If so, I feel sorry for you and I hope you will grow up one day. I'll be playing this gem at 7:01pm EST on Monday evening. Thanks CDPR for pouring so much love into this game.
