My thoughts about Gwent so far and ODRIN CARD REQUEST!
Hey everyone,
Failed to play the server killers. Got an AMD R9 270x. So not a single round played. Crash after crash and so on. What a bummer.
There appeared to be no coin toss feature to determine who plays first. Probably needed and an offer to rematch after the game is over though I can't say if thats there as I never made it past a round let alone a game before crashing. Also this will be free to play game, no?
Hopefully the beta will be fixed so I can play. I refuse to participate in pre release versions but I'm happy to make an exception for Gwent.
I'd like to see some crafty or goofy cards in the game like the cow card in W3 or Roach in Gwent. I have one idea and if I don't see this card appear in Gwent, I'll be disappointed. That card is Odrin.
So this cheeky stealthy ever drunk former soldier who has dedicated his life to drinking steals beer barrels from enemy camps. So, missing mead negatively affects enemy moral and reduces their effectiveness. So when played, it adds some, I don't know, 3 maybe 4 points but reduces all fronline infantry cards' score by one. In the next rounds, he randomly appears on the players side from the graveyard adding the points he stole from the enemy from the previous round to the player. The idea being he stole and brought some of the enemies mead on his side and that has improved moral for soldiers a little bit. ...Or something like that.
Okay, so, Monier hinted about a Nilfgaard faction for the future which is great but I'd like to see a deck with only Geralt and his friends and associates. Here is a list of cards that could be in that deck:
- Torque
- Dandelion
- Sorcoresses - Yen, Tris, Vigo, Coral
- Witchers including Letho, Beringar, Coen.
- Roach
- Roche, Ves and the blue stripes
- Dragons: Saesenthesis/Saskia, 3 JAckdaws with Tea and Vea - think this one's already in GWENT
- Thaler
- Reynart, Milton and Palmerin. I was sure I'd see Reynart in B&W but didn't!
- Regis
- The Tamerian guard who was a werewolf also the friendly werewolf from season of storms.
- Shaani as a medic unit obviously
- Friends from Skellige: Crach who brings along his personal guards, Jalmar brings Vigi and Forlan and a few others while Cerys brings shieldmaidens. Ermion and even Gremist whose presence alone could repel enemies. Druids would clearly have weather related powers.
- Lady of the Lake
- The queen of Brokilon as a healing unit - what was her name Erhne? Eshne? Somerhing like that.
- Zoltan and his boys. He's always talking of his 'lads' but never see them. Also Yarpen and Shelden. Not to forget Fieldmarshal Duda
- Dudu could have interesting powers IMO
- Iorveth and his archers
- Jhonny and his GF
- Olgierd
As you can see Geralt has many friends and associates and I might have missed some who could also be on the deck.
