As a long-time fan of The Witcher universe, I wanted to share my hope for The Witcher 4: that we get to play as Ciri, ruling as Empress of Nilfgaard.
Ciri’s Empress ending from The Witcher 3 is the most hopeful path for the Continent. She carries the power of the Elder Blood, the compassion of a witcher, and the legacy to heal a world torn by war and racism.
Here’s what I’d love to see:
1. Dual Identity Gameplay**: Balance imperial duties (diplomacy, policy-making) with wandering the world as a witcher, to keep the core Witcher feel.
2. Meaningful Governance Choices**: Policies that shape the world—protecting non-human villages, rebuilding war-torn lands, or forging alliances with other kingdoms.
3. Strategic Monster Hunting**: Lead imperial forces to clear monster nests and secure trade routes, with tactical elements inspired by Gwent.
4. Living World Consequences**: Let our choices leave lasting marks on cities, villages, and characters, to make the Continent feel truly alive.
Geralt spent his life patching the world’s wounds. Ciri, as Empress, could rebuild it from the ground up. This would make for an epic story far beyond just slaying monsters.
What do you all think? Would you love to rule as Empress Ciri?
