Navigation, Am I missing the obvious?

I will probably sound like a complete noob here but for the life of me I can't seem to figure out how to pan vertically in the editors viewport.

LMB Forward and Back = Zoom in and out
RMB = Rotate
MMB = No Effect
W Key = Zoom in
S Key = Zoom Out
A Key = Pan Left
D Key = Pan Right

How do you Pan Up and Down?

As a dirty solution, look "up" or "down", and then go forward. By the way, "LMB Forward and back" does not zoom in or out, it just pans the camera.

That Worked, doh!

I just think it would be so much more intuitive if it were W=Up, S=Down, A=Left, D=Right, LMB Zoom in/out, and RMB Rotate (Just My opinion though).

also, Thank You mithrandir0x, LMB is not really a zoom in/out but more of move forward and back.

and Forget what I said earlier about more intuitive key configuration, I've actually adjusted very quickly to the current setup.

Well I had to disagree at this point
I think current controls are best for kit, maybe be course it reminds me of my old days with source.
