Need help - The Witcher : Extreme Immersion Mod & Rise of the White Wolf

Hello! My first post here. Just started playing the game with 'Rise of the White Wolf' & 'Scabbard' mods. I can't get this 'E.I' mod to work with 'Rise of the White Wolf' mod. I've installed this mod after installing 'Rise of the White Wolf' but all HUD items are still there along with the flaming sword. I have the Enhanced Edition & the newest patch. Can anyone please help? How do I play with white wolf mod installed while keeping the minimal style of the E.I mod?

Thanks!

Hello there.

First of all, I'm no specialist, but perhaps this helps you.

I never used the Extreme Immersion Mod, but I use the Rise of the White Wolf, and know a bit about it. I installed EI a minute ago, and had the same issue, with the weapons, potions and other icons showing. I noticed that inside the GUI folder of RotWW, in the Data directory that's inside the game directory, there are some DDS archives with the same name of the ones that are inside the EI folder. So, I think that the game must be loading the RotWW ones later, giving them more priority.
I deleted the DDS file named "ui_stlswd_001" in the RotWW GUI folder and the Steel Witcher Sword disappeared, so I think that must be the answer.

Try deleting the files in the RotWW GUI folder that are named the same way that the ones in the EI folder. If you want to see the content that you are deleting, download a DDS viewer. If you do, you will notice that, for example, the "ui_stlswd_001" file in RotWW shows an image, but the one in EI is empty, and I think that's why it disappears in the game when you install Extreme Immersion.

I hope this helps you.

If you get a DDS viewer you can also investigate into the RotWW folder, and keep some GUI parts that you like. For example, I don't like the orange sinuous ribbon that appears in the left side of the original screen, but I like que metal-like thing where the medallion and the status bars are shown.

Please, answer if this method serves you well, so I can also know that it works fine.

Hello!

Thank you very much for your quick reply. I had given up all hopes about combining these two mods without problems but what you suggested you through your answer opened up a short-cut to me. Take a look at this,

HUD
INVENTORY

All I did was copying all the files in the 'Extreme Immersion Mod' into the 'ROWW' GUI folder. All the unneeded HUD items disappear; without the inventory, map, icon, journal modifications & everything else I didn't mention. After overwriting the ROTWW files please delete these items from there, [Always make a backup of items before you delete]

1.ui_stat_energy
2.ui_stat_toxicity
3.ui_stat_energy3
4.ui_stat_energyb
5.ui_stat_life
6.ui_stat_energy2

The end result is totally worth the extra minute it takes to delete the said files.

Got a leave from work just to play this awesome game to the end. Already in love Witcher 3, although I don't believe my ASUS HD 7950 would be able to handle it's awesomeness.

Hope this helps you guys.

Thanks again! Happy Witchering!

I'm glad you could solve it.

I still like the steel-looking thing that surrounds the medallion and the bars that provides the Rise of the White Wolf mod the more. You can also take away other things from that mod, like the backgrounds of the journal, inventory and character development. I lived the map mini-icons, character journal portraits and other not GUI-related things, like the sky boxes and new cutscenes, and erase the rest, to maintain the original buttons of the game.

I also play The Witcher with the Full Combat Rebalance mod, wich also has an option to add a minimalistic interface to the game; not as minimalistic as the Extreme Immersion mod, but without the melted-steel-looking ribbons and other things that I super charge my screen.

Sadly, I have a strange issue between my PC and this game, and can't take any pictures.

Yeah. Although I just did what you suggested. It was easy enough. Your can leave the thing that surrounds the medallion and the stat bars. It is not hard to find. Just follow the method I presented and then replace the ROTWW dds. file of that item. I tested it and it actually worked earlier. I can't remember the name of that file but you can find it easily. In my case, I sprcially wanted to remove the very thing you wanted to keep. I just wanted to see the medallion and the buffs around it clearly.

Now if I could only get rid of the sound that plays when you open the inventory screen and change sword models. (change the mahakaman sword model to witchers steel sword because I rather like that particular sword)

+1 for your help! Cheers! :)

mmm, to remove the sounds I think you'll have to go further: download the UnBIF tool, extract the files that contain the sounds you want to silence or look at their names, create a silenced track with the same format and name and then put them in the \Override folder.
About the sword model, I think that you can take the model of the witcher sword, duplicate it and name the copy like que Mahakam sword, to put it in the \Override folder, as well as the sounds. Perhaps the Scabbard mod folder has those sword model files; I'm reinstalling the game right now and can't verify that.

This is all pure speculation, as I never attempted those specific changes, but almost all other modiffications work in that way.

Sorry, I was at work & didn't have the time to visit here. As for Combining the elements of those two mods are complete. I can tell all the .dds files by their names and what they do in the HUD. Haha! I'm no expert either. However, if anyone need help, I'm always open.

As for the sound & models, I think I'm gonna try your suggestions. Although I don't have the time now, I'll try to see if they are effective.

Thanks for all your help. (I forgot to give you a +1 last time) +1 for you! :)
