Need help with graphics settings

Hello allI just purchased The Witcher and I am trying to get it to run as well as my system can. My system specs are:ASUS G1S-A1Vista 64bit4GB RamIntel Core 2 Duo 2.20 GHZ8600MGT 256MB DDR3 (it does that tubo cache stuff and can bump itself up to 2GB by sharing system ram)I have installed the 1.2 patch. I tried to run it at first and I had a lot of stuttering in cutscenes and someduring gameplay. After the patch it ran a little bit better, but the game crashed around the end of the tutroial. If anyone has any helpful tips, that would be awesome. Thanks! ;D

(1) Overclock that CPU if you are able and/or comfortable with the process. It will help quite a bit.(2) That video card is most likely choking on the load that The Witcher dishes out. An upgrade would do you wonders.(3) Vista is horrible. I hate saying that over and over, but it is nothing less than the truth unfortunately.(4) IMPORTANT: A game such as this puts a massive strain on your rig. Make sure that your PSU is capable. It may work fine when it is not struggling, providing a false sense of security, yet be less than sufficient when under heavy loadThat being said, be sure to update Windows, VGA drivers, audio drivers, chipset drivers, and DirectX. Shut down all non-essential applications, especially virus scanners and similar software. They hog cycles you do not have to spare. If you MUST use Vista, attempt to shut off as much as the eye candy as possible. If possible, turn off the feature that shares system ram on your video card. In your case, it may do more harm than good. Run the game at a lower resolution....even if 800x600 looks like crap, it still looks better than a crash, eh? =)
