Never got further than Novigrad, but I'm back.

Just one thing, I lost my saves.
So starting over, again.

I want to ask if there is any spoiler free advice anyone can give me to make the best out of my experience? :)

That depends on what you want to get out of it.

If it's the story line, don't set the difficulty to high in the early stages of the Game.

Take your time main quest is in my opinion less interesting that a lot of secondary quest.

just go with the ride, with that I mean don't reload if you think the outcome of a quest not what you expected or wanted but go with that decision makes the story more compelling

Hm. Is using Galaxy client stable? I have to install the game again.
Not sure what patch has done lately, or what patch is the best to use.
Skills, pure magic or pure melee easier to work with against hard enemies?

Sure. Do side-quests. Loot a lot and you'll find some good potions and stuff and focus on your character-build. Google is allways helpful if you're stuck.

And I totally disagree with the poster above me. Make sure to set up your character so you have a high toxicity-toleranse. I have 274 now and I can combine like 6-7 different potions.

Just take it slow, try the side quests, and in order to get a different experience try to change things up a bit when it comes to decision making. Hope this helps! :cheers3:

When choosing armour, take resistances over small variations in armour value. If you prefer take looks over small differences in armour value or resistances. Damage delivered is usually much more than current armour values, so small differences aren't game changing. Note that most 'found' armours totally lack Rend (monster) and Elemental resistances, so are not useful for the non-human enemies.

Equally for swords, the sum of base damage and additional damages is more significant than the base damage itself... armour piercing (on boots, armour or weapon) is worth a fair bit, most of the time, often more than the value of high critical damage bonuses.

The headline values are the most obvious ones in the UI, but following them alone is misleading.

I always find these questions quite peculiar. It is like asking how to laugh at something funny...you just kinda do it!

Close cam mod I think it's the first step.

The second is to make sure not to fast travel, just going from point A-B can change your entire gameplay, you may be doing a quest and in the middle of it you find someone in need, or end up in a cavern, or start another quest in the middle of the first quest you started to take a break from the main quest... quest

Oh yes... stash all dimeritium you find.

If you find yourself getting distracted with side quests don't be afraid to save them for later. I know a few people had to get pretty far in the main quest to really connect with the world and the characters and from there enjoying the side quests was much easier.

lol definitely stash all dimeritium.

and stock up on Arenaria any chance you get

There are a ton of mods I would reccomend depending on how you like to play....

Loot everything, and sell stuff to appropriate vendors.

Many shops get new stuff at level 10

keep a few repair kits handy

you can have 1 drink and 1 food actively regening vitality at the same time, which is almost as good as Swallow+ food. Swallow+drink+food is very fast Vit regen. just avoid alcohols in the drink slot if you dont want to be drunk lolol.

Dont hit any Places Of Power before you get to level 2!!

Alchemy and SIgns are awesome fun. High toxicity + many potions makes Geralt a wrecking machine of death. Decoctions just get silly.

hit F5 before anything. ANYTHING.

Check out the hud mods and reshade presets to fix the colors. Our understanding of tweaks is getting stable now too, so if you've got issues or like tweaking on the pc version there's very good resources to check out.

The hud was my biggest irritation on launch that's been made customizable by mods now.

Dont worry about money when you first start everything seems crazy but by the time you actually know about something to buy with it you have degrees more than you'll ever need. It just seems cruel when you first start.

The the dlc armor is great, just go for that until you know better. All 3 sets are pretty much the best looking armor in the game also so you're not missing out.

If w3 didn't take you the first time and you're coming back to give it a second chance.. stop and take in the graphics. If you're running on a good system the thing is majesty. Soak it up in case you leave again before finishing.. that much is worth it!!
