Well, I am one of those agreeable guys who liked practically everything in this video. So colour me one happy camper, and CDPR - my gaming gods. :hatsoff:

I just hope Geralt will always jump over fences as intended, and not just climb on top and sit like an idiot a la Assassin's Creed 3. :)

It was great. Music is brilliant. world is atmospheric . although i need higher quality version to enjoy it. biggest nitpick was the VA. seems like it still hasnt been recorded.

Hats off to CDPR for what I reckon was the best demo of the show so far, great music, great atmosphere and great visuals.

I don't know if this a been posted yet, but there is a 1080p 60fps version of the demo on Gamersyde.

The sound track in No Man's land is pure bliss to the ears, yet again a rich atmosphere. I believe CDPR took a step in the wrong direction by giving away which potions to use. What fun is that, no sense of discovery and self-achievement. In TW1 one had to read the bestiary entry and deduce themselves what potion to brew. Simplification of gameplay systems is a plague of modern Western games and is ignoring the fact that intelligent adults play the game.

It would be wonderful to see CDPR stick to their old-school RPG roots at least to a certain degree, it would show that they're not afraid to take risks in an era where few games have a story as rich and inspired as Sapkowski's universe.

My mentality might be picky but it's because I have such a special love for the Witcher series and CDPR for bringing Sapkowski's world to the gaming audience, and I want TW3 to truly be the best in the trilogy. Maybe people that read all the novels like myself and played through TW1 and TW2 countless times on PC will feel what I feel.

I was expecting a bit more fluidity to the combat. that looks nearly identical to TW2 combat system which I have issues with, mainly the fact that there is no real-time counter system, only a parry system with you have to activate first, which is useless against multiple enemies. Fighting multiple enemies at the same time with this kind of combat system I'm feeling is going to be brutally tedious, as it was in TW2.

Didn't they say something about it being more like arkham city in regards to the combat style or something like that? It doesn't look anything close to that from what I saw.

I'm a bit disappointed to be honest. Also I thought there was some kind of vac-based option for combat sort of like what fallout has right? I don't think any of that was showcased in the video.

Are you serious.. the combat looks awesome, fast and smooth as butter. Geralt is only a level 7 in this demo, if Red showed us all the moves Geralt can do it one demo I would be real upset. I already love this fucking game compared to TW2 .;)

yeah yeah I'm stoked and already preordered and all that good stuff, but what I saw was nearly identical to tw2 combat and there's supposed to be other elements to it than what they showed... or at least I thought there was.

Parrying is better shown off in the Griffin Hunt video, in both this Gameplay and the Swamp Demo they more-so focus on sign usage and just slashing at shit.

I assume with a proper level of difficulty, those hits he takes from the Drowners/Hags would do ALOT more damage and you'd have to be really careful with your dodging or increase the sign usage and parrying.

Considering Aard/Igni is back to being a frontal cone now, and the parrying system seems a little more fluid (based on the Griffin Footage), in combination with Bombs as well, taking on groups should be better then it was in TW2. I just don't think this Gameplay video shows it off very well, and even the Griffin Hunt video doesn't do a fantastic job, but by putting 2 and 2 together, I personally am able to see how it would work really nicely.

Doesn't seem much like TW2 to me since strikes are much faster, the distance-closing auto attack seems to be gone and in the demos there are far fewer enemies to engage at a time. TW2 would regularly throw 6-8 enemies at you. I wonder about there being no target icon and I can't tell the difference between strong and fast strikes. I haven't seen any semblance of real time counters - in the E3 vid the counter appeared to work like parry in TW2. I am hoping to see a mechanic where Geralt can doge and attack, or block and attack in one smooth sequence. On the bright side, signs look way more impactful and their effect is immediate. No more slow projectiles.

Well I look @ it this way.. TW2 combat was slow and we had to wait for an animation to end be for we could see or make our next attack. We control him now, 1button push = one hit without the wait. like I said we will upgrade and Geralt will learn new moves along the way. It will be so much more fun to unlock new moves first hand over time as we play, this game will be full of surprises left & right. I'm happy devs don't show too much and spoil the lot.
Think about it, no worries ;)

True that, I just really hope we can do counter-moves against multiple opponents because in TW2 being able to only parry 1 guy at a time that was directly in front of you made fighting against multiple enemies ridiculously tedious. TW1 got away with it due to AoE group-style combat option but yeah, I really hope facing multiple enemies isn't going to be the tedious chore that it was in tw2. I did like tw2 combat, but not against multiple enemies. It felt very unrealistic considering hes a master swordsman who is trained to fight more than 1 enemy at a time lol. All you really did in TW2 against multiple guys was hit when you could and roll away, rinse and repeat..

Well TW3 sure aint no W2, & one can always choose to play on easy mode if we hit a rough spot I guess. I played TW2 on easy and it was easy alright, but whatever.. to each their own.
TW3 is going to rock! @shelledfade
Yep the roll is gone ,Geralt jumps, rides a horse and fucking swims and climbs now and I like the dodge and all of the other Geralt animations so far. I laugh when people say.. "Gearlt looks like a stiff robot while walking, joging or running."
I say.. look what he has on folks.. some heavy ass shit, hes not running around in a silk robe for fucks sake!
Plus it is the shape of that armor,
it looks real, & damn good to me so what gives lol... @frostloupblanc thanks;)
