hmm.. of all the points in the OP, only the links not being underlined and coloured differently bothers me.

For the rest, I've seen much worse forums and colour combinations around. And I like the colours. They fit well the new website and since they have the same colours, I don't think they should change it.

My understanding is that even though it took forEVER for them to get the forum back up, it still isn't in its final form. So some stuff should improve over the next week or so.

Thanks for the update, Marcin! For now I made a quick Stylish mod to change things I didn't like, especially the orange, which I find very distracting - more than the others, it seems :]

The Rochestache is amazing. Is it culturally insensitive to say that it makes him look like a stereotypical French guy? Hopefully not, because stereotypes are always wrong, but still--if someone mods his sword into a baguette, my life will be complete.

I don't know if this is an intended feature, but you seem to be able to vote up your own comments. I haven't actually tried it and can't at the moment because I ran out of +1 votes (which we need to talk about, by the way) but that shouldn't be possible if it is.

One more thing: on the sub-forum screen it has "Last Post Info," but the name is always of the person who started the thread. Like... this thread will always say under Last Post Info that Dona was the last to post. When I loaded up this site on my iPhone it showed who posted last correctly, so I'm assuming that's unintended.

I hated the orange at first, but it kind of grows on you, actually. Maybe it would be easier on the eyes if that bar wasn't always visible (and only popped up when you moused over a post, like GOG)?

Oh, definitely! I like the colour itself, but it's hard on the eyes in such large quantities.

I'd also like each thread when loaded go to the last page if you have visited it before and if you haven't been to the thread then of course to page 1 automatically. Just sayin...

The personal message system is a little cumbersome but with familiarity gets easier. Practice makes perfect...

Aside from those two I really can't find anything I dislike enough to mention. Although orange is not my favorite color but it is for for others right?

Well, I dug around page coding while making my stylesheet and there's PM count, control panel links etc. already coded in on top, but currently hidden - I guess it's not done yet or something.

They had the flicker-y things before and I'm so glad they don't have them anymore. What do you think why people can't figure out how to use certain features on GoG? Because they are hidden and only surface, when you give yourself a flicker scare. Seriously, it's distracting.

Also that idea of "go to last page", must stem from over there, right? If the last is page 3 and the last post I've read is on page 2, I want to go there. The most standard feature on any forum I know -> go to first unread post when clicking on topic. Too much to hope for?

Honestly, I'd just be happy if they fixed the problem with new threads perpetually only showing one page. That way you could click the page you want, but so long as it doesn't always go to the first page in multi-page threads life is good and any solution will suffice

Another thing: is there no way to see you got a new message, other than by mail notification?

You can switch your notification settings by going to here: alinktothepast

If you switch it to inline notification, it'll pop up on your screen. I have it set that way for replies, messages, everything, really. Way more convenient, though having something pop up suddenly is a little jarring.
