New Game + being one of the DLCs?

Hi People,

Over the last few days I've been reading in various comment sections that it is rumored that a proper NG+ /New Difficulty Level is in one of the remaining free DLCs. I was wondering if anyone here actually knew whether there is a solid source for this "rumor" or whether it's just fans making s up and later disseminating it as news?

I just completed my second playthrough on DM and this would certainly give me a reason to start a 3rd one :) (this time real slow so I can savor the game)

That's the rumor, yes, and the source of it is some lines found in the game's registry or something like that.
Beside that, no official nor informal confirmation from developers so far.

Even if confirmed I have a hard time being excited for this, as I'm not fond of NG+ modes in general and I can barely think of any game that made it somewhat interesting, but I'll wait and see. Maybe they actually have some ace up their sleeve.

Borderlands 2 made it fun, or maybe it was just me being a loot whore :p Either Way, If the NG+ has new loot and enemies with really high resistances (so that you REALLY have to use the bestiary every time to get it right) that would do it for me :) I don't need much to be a happy camper

Going by what the other DLCs have been so far, I cannot imagine NG+ to be one of them. From a non-programmer's perspective, it appears to require way more effort than one set of armor or a bunch of card skins.

On the other hand, I think the last two will be substantial so that they can regain media attention after E3. A new mode would actually make total sense from the marketing standpoint.

While that is undeniably true, I wouldn't hold my breath for it being the case. They might just add it as an update sometime later on.

I hope so:The game was awesome: up until because of a couple of choices that apparently weren't optimal I got the "bad" ending. which after 45+ hours of play is kinda a kick in the nuts. Nothing worse than a bad ending. Add a Game+ mode so I can fix it and have to start AAAALLLLL over again....

All of the DLC was most likely complete before release, which is why there are references to it in the code. Even armor sets have a separate statline for NG+ in the game files.
