I must say the IGN PC gameplay was very underwhelming in terms of graphics and artistics for a 2015 game. Some may not care but for me graphics and jaw dropping environments are important in an rpg, especially for a game with such a huge amount of exploration. For comparison sake, I didn't like Dragon Age Inquisition much but I absolutely loved the exploration with all the diversity and I stood in awe when I discovered the
waterfall in the forbidden oasis. W3's environments seem far less entertaining so far, even in comparison to W2 (floatsam's forest was incredible and made you feel really tiny).
Also the lighting is weird, way too yellow/orange and colorful. Somehow it seems stuck between realism and a fantasy look which gives a strange result. It really doesn't serve the textures either, giving a fake plastic look to many things like wood or
characters' faces. I don't understand why they changed it so drastically in the past months.
I also noticed they completely abandoned the smoke coming out of
chimneys (unless it's a graphical option and I missed it), which is a great disappointment for me because I feel it added a lot to immersion. It seems like nothing but it's the little things that reinforce immersion.
I'm sure the game will be great but, as far as graphics go, it's underwhelming and it's even worse because optimization doesn't seem too good. I'm unsure it'd wise to call for more optimization though because the way it went, a few more development months and W3 could have been renamed fog hunt (/joke).
