Oh, there can be. And I'll be happy to eat crow once I get it on my PC and I've been mistaken. I'm in agreement with Guy when he says consoles aren't at fault. Plenty of multiplatform games have stunning PC ports. It just depends on how well a dev can deliver on each platform. Look at GTA5 for instance. Battlefield 3. Sleeping Dogs is another one. Visuals/graphics don't have to be tied to consoles.

check out guru3d.com witcher 3 forum has some very good comparisons. Man cattering to the consoles ruins every look of every game that has it.

I wonder about the wind effect in the game. Don't get me wrong, it's really cool, but in some of the vids I've seen the trees look like they're being hit by a hurricane. Nothing major, just a little jarring 
i would realy not bother about the graphics .. first of all . the very old videos never represent the finishd product .. the latest video show all console version and not the pc version from what i know, and consoles are not as powerfull as pc .. =) and it still looks pretty =D

Of course the atmosphere is different, one is during broad daylight, the other is towards sunset with fog. Honestly, I hated that water. I don't know why there were so many static ripples in it. I think the newer water looks better.
By the way, discussing any sort of downgrade makes sense to me, as long as they're civil discussions. Ideas and thoughts should flow freely. I don't see why topics are getting deleted.

YOu got to be kidding the original concept looked atmospheric, the new concept looks like some candy crush color pallettes, pray for the mods
Atmosphere is a subjective thing believe it or not. The art style changes, the atmosphere does. The weather changes, the atmosphere does. The time changes, atmosphere does. Location, events, etc etc. When you say the original looked "atmospheric" it says nothing.
The Precious Cargo trailer had a lot of the atmosphere you can find in the screenshot you adore during the night time segment.
