Well, without putting words in his mouth, since I can barely recall them, IT'S BEEN SO LONG, ( where is your God now?), I think he said something along the lines of, "We did too much too fast and strayed from the vision of what made Cyberpunk great - low lives and high tech."
Without getting into another V3 chat, unless of course you want to, since it bears directly on this discussion, I think V3 did quite a lot I liked. If you excluded the doll-art, as in, made it go away magically forever, the only bits that I wasn't fond of were the clean cyberware bracelets and the idea of corporations as NPCs. Way too clean for the former and way too meta for my taste for the latter.
Other than that, V3 had lots of great ideas. Which we've talked about before but in short: alt cults, nanobuildings, super cities, full conversion societies, etc. Just not too....punk. Is all.
