New video: Non-linear Narrative, Changing Environments

In the mature and engrossing narrative of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition, players are faced with sometimes difficult decisions, and just like in real life, these choices have far-reaching consequences that affect the world of protagonist Geralt of Rivia. In this new video, we hear level designer Jonas Mattsson describe how each environment radically changes according to the choices that players make, rendering otherwise peaceful cities into fiery ruins, affecting the characters in the world and determining the conclusion of the game. The video shows vivid side-by-side comparisons of the same locations affected by the divergent choices made by the player. Click here to watch the video.

Wow, thanks for that. I never actually experienced "nice Flotsam", always ended up with the pogrom, I don't even know which decision I should take to make it different. That's the true power of TW2 right here.

"Not just changing the colour"

Legendary. Half of that stuff at the end i didn't even know could happen. I ended the game with nice little magical plants everywhere. Would've been a hell of a lot more eery with men on spikes and mages hanged and burned.

I find the lack of Iorveth in this video disturbing.

You've never experienced the unbridled joy of throat-chopping Iorveth? You're missing out; it's hilarious.

Oh! I see I'll never be a good girl in this way. I've never, never thought do that. Maybe I have to assume some sacrifice about my personal values...
. Just out of curiosity :p

Thanks Donna!

That's the beauty of TW2. It doesn't give a fuck for your morals in determining what is wrong and right in situations like that.

Something that I like from VGs is the choice of breaking the rules. But my main problem is that I have always had and still I have a great fondness for elves, so I never hesitated to give the sword to Iorveth when he asks me ...

Nice video, indeed.
Can someone tell me which silver sword can be seen at 2:26? I have never seen it before.

LoL no, I don't even know how to "trigger" it. And that speaks for TW2 non-linearity for me :)

Well, if you're still wondering how - it's the same way I just told Wichat, under spoiler tag. I think that's a decision that gives you the most gameplay options/consequences :)

Haha, same here, but when I first got to that part, I couldn't make up my mind and just clicked "help Roche", then I was like NOOO THIS IS NOT WHAT I WANTED, FORGIVE MEEEE

On second thought, Iorveth has such a long, uncovered neck... It's only logical to punch him in the throat.

Elf lovers should be able to avoid the Progrom altogether helping Roche in the forest, but later siding with the Scoia'tael in freeing Iorveth and the others from the Prison Barge... I never tried this but I think it's possible...
