I think fans would not be this anxious for footage if there would have been a steady flow of new material from E3 to now.

Problem is, or at least how I see it, we were immediately cut off again despite being told that the marketing campaign would kick off in full force around E3. Well, it did kick off in full force, too bad there was no follow-up and it left many people wanting (which can be seen as good or bad, depends how you look at it, but that's an entirely different matter).

It really doesn't take much to keep things interesting, a screenshot every now and then, a little bit of artwork or even some music snippets (like they did in the past). Nothing too revealing. And I don't count the side things like the cosplay contest, it's fun and all that, but it's not everyone's cup of tea.

I suppose that the last few months before release will offer a complete focus on the fans with probably several trailers, dev diaries and the lot.
CD Projekt does not seem to care much about maintaining the hype in between though and showing of lengthy footage before those last few months is unlikely.
On one hand I can understand choosing the right moments to make new footage be most effective but at this stage all love is going out to the press and the rest can only wait.

Unless my memory is failing me, I seem to recall it was said in the investor conference that the main marketing campaign would kick off Jan/Feb 2015 which I find too late personally, regardless of that... I dropped all my expectations for new footage content since then and if new stuff comes out I can be pleasantly surprised but otherwise I'm not expecting much before that.

just how well the ear being cut off will be animated. Will we actually see Geralt holding it, or are they going to do one of those off-screen hand-overs? And the witches, just how creepy are they? I guess we won't get to hear them though, since some articles mentioned most of the demo lacking VAs.

I doubt that CDPR will show us footage directly from Comic Con with broken VA. They will record it again in office probably.
