No sex options in act 2 (iorveth's path)?

No sex options in act 2 (iorveth's path)?

This is my third time through the game, but first playthrough since the 1.3 patch. There was no difference in the prologue and first act, including the lovemaking in the elven bath, but now in the second act when I talked to the elven girl from Flotsam who offers to sleep with you, Geralt turns her down flat. No option is given in conversation to sleep with her.

Just now I finished the "With Flickering Heart" quest, and again, Geralt turns the succubus down flat, again with no option to agree to sleep with her.

Nothing like this happened before patch 1.3. Did the patch misidentify my region somehow and censor the game?

FWIW, I'm running the collectors edition bought in the U.S., I bought the GOG version, too, but have so far only used my retail boxed edition. After installing, the auto-patch process went into the all too familiar infinite loop of downloading and re-downloading. I shut that down and patched it manually to 1.3

Has anyone else had these issues? Any suggested fixes would be welcome.

I don't know if this will work for you. My game is also retail, and I have had experience exactly like you, after reinstalling windows but not uninstall TW2 beforehand. I placed the game in another partition, so it didn't get wipe out when I reinstall Windows. At that point The Launcher and Configurator.exe didn't work anymore, but I can still fired up the game by directly accessing the witcher.exe file in /bin/ folder as admin.

Now, I know my game's version was exactly the same , but all the sex option were all gone. I was confused. I decided to completely reinstall the game and patching it sequentially from Patch 1.1, 1,2, and then 1.3., performed manually and off the gird (no internet connection at all during install and patching).

And it's been working again ever since. Hope it'll work for you, as well.

http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/04/the-witcher-2-censored-slightly-for-australia/

"The Witcher 2 has reportedly been censored ever so slightly for Australian audiences. Games On Net notes that for its MA 15+ rating the titular Witcher can't accept sex as a reward for completing a side quest."

Sounds like the same problem you're having..

Yeah, but OP's wording seems to suggest that they had access to those scenes before.

Something like that, probably. I've seen this happen because of the patch twice in the last week alone. Putting these two files in your CookedPC folder should restore the censored scenes.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll try the two files you posted, 227. If that doesn't work, I'll reinstall and patch it sequentially like blubeetle suggested.

As eskiMoe notes, somehow I seem to be being flagged as an Australian user, despite being in the US. Does anyone know where whatever regional localization information is stored in the game? I poked around in the game files, but didn't find anything obvious. Lots of files stored in subfolders concerning different localizations, but nothing in the user .ini that I saw indicated a location.

FWIW, I used the patch hosted here labeled 0 - 1.3, suggested for fresh installs, which this was. Before this my old install had been patched sequentially.

A couple of further details, I always install games, particularly those that can be modded, to a directory outside the dreaded program files, in this case, C:/Games/The Witcher 2. However, I was using no mods when this odd issue came up. I'm running Win 7x64, and aside from this issue, the game has run very well; no crashes or freezes.

I'll post an update when I get a chance to try this later tonight.

Thanks again 227! It worked perfectly in both instances!
