no shadows on 'high' setting?

no shadows on 'high' setting?

Just reinstalled TW1 again and curiously with the shadows slider set to 'high' I don't see any shadows at all! They're there if its on 'medium' but vanish completely on 'high'. Very odd.
Is this a known bug? I searched the forum but couldn't find any mention of it.

Phenom II
ATI 47xx series w/ 1Gb
4Gb RAM
Win7 64bit

Everything else runs perfectly.

I'm thinking that your graphics card doesn't support advanced shaders...?
Don't know much about AMD, but maybe it's shader v2.x only, and the game uses shader v3.0 on high?

Higher shader versions allows for more instructions to be executed in a shader program...

Nah no problem there....it's actually a Radeon HD4870 1Gb, possibly something screwy in the drivers.
