Just wonder.. or if this is just a thing to make it easier for you to progress in a quest, sometimes..

i dont think so, but it could prevent from failing missions (getting killed, beated to death) or u could avoid paying a fee or get informations faster
however axii isnt necessary to trigger any quest i think

it techically avoids some paths tho, (fighting or asking again or pay, other than that, no)

I believe no, you won't miss.
It is useful to get certain outcome, like if you don't want to kill a person or don't have money to bribe.

No, it will just prevent some unecessary fight and help you with gathering information form NPCs. Nice way to save some money too.

Do you think it's more "being a nice guy" to mind control someone or bribe them with money?

but practically a waste of 3 ability points you could use a bit more effectively especially early in the game...

That's what I'm thinking about.. my playstyle isn't based around Axii in combat but other signs that slow and deal damage.
So I'm thinking if I don't miss out anything storywise, why not just upgrade a different sign instead I think.

sometimes Axi proves to be a problematic option in dialogues.. for example, it is not that great idea to use it against somebody if others are nearby. it always backfires.

No especially if you like powergaming and fights moreover i had a lot of money later in game so i didn't mind to give some poor guys some money for drinks etc. It makes also sense to use potion to readjust your skillpoints and get rid of Axii because you wont' have much situations where you will need to use it.

that reminds me one unrelated issue with that potion.. for some reason, it has highest priority of all foods, so it is automatically assigned to quick slot if you eat everything you had in that slot... so beware of potion of clearance! otherwise you might unintentionally reset your character in the middle of the fight...

If you have level 2 of Axii and there is a group of people, you actually use it on the group and everyone of them will do as you say.

depends... i had axi level 3, and using it against
witchhunters during the attempt to get into their quarters backfired, and Triss later asked me if i really expected it work in such situation...

Not a waste, you can lock down monsters well above your level

That wasn't the question.

I already said I have a different playstyle and that is around Yrden, slowing the enemy down aswell as destroying any arrows or other things shooting at me.

Yrden (Alternative Spell) is much cooler and better than Axii against big monsters.
Makes it easier for you to dodge and strike back.
