Hmmm i'll try that, because i am using the non EE witcher saves. Would it be more beneficial to just start the whole game over or...?

My game starts up normally, but when I get to the main menu where I can choose New Game, Load Game, Options, etc etc the words have disappeared. I can still select the options and they're highlighted, but there's no writing. Same thing when I go into the Options menu. This only happened after I had to format my HDD that had Windows on it and doing a fresh Windows install. The Witcher was installed on my other HDD but it still was affected it seems. Any reason why and how to fix it?

Sounds like you need to reinstall. Seems like the game was storing something locally on your primary drive (in addition to anything in the registry, I mean).

Hey!I just bought the Witcher Enchanced Edition, a bit late but i first had to buy a new pc to meet the requirements.. ;) Anyway, i installed the game, patched it, and when i want to play the menu isn't complete. Like the menu is there the bar around it as well, but there is no text! So i managed to start up a new game but just clicking random buttons.. ;) And in-game it works perfectly! Except for the menu's.. Like the level up screen and stuff.. So maybe someone can help me? Thanks in advance, nuvix

Okay, so I just reinstalled the Witcher to check out the EE stuff and my menus are blank! There are also no subtitles - this is after installing the EE patch and the English Language patch. I've done a search for this issue but I cannot find a resolution. Any ideas? And yes, I'm running the latest drivers for my Graphics, Motherboard, Soundcard, Direct X, blah blah blah. Thanks in advance,~Anolin

When I installed the game, it hung during installation and I had to reboot. I reinstalled without first unstalling. The game ran fine except that I had no menu text. I solved it by first uninstalling using the Control Panel and Remove Programs. Then I went to my C drive and deleted The Witcher folder in Program Files. Then I did a complete installation. Voila, problem solved. Also, during the first installation, I did a custom installation and only installed the English voices and subtitles. During the final installation, I did the Easy Installation and installed all languages. I don't know if this made a difference or not. I rather suspect it was that first bad installation that caused the problem.

I once deleted the content of The Witcher\System\__cache\ directory. And my menu went blank. I had to re-install. I'd send you the files, but they are over 500 MB :-/

I was having this trouble too, and tried all the suggestions without result. Then I found out that I had to use the launcher. I had created a shortcut directly from the EXE, which always resulted in the subtitles and menu text disappearing. If you haven't tried it yet, try using the launcher and see if that solves the problem.Edit: I've just discovered that it only works if you launch the game from the CD's autorun launcher. I tried using the launcher in the game directory, but still ended up without menu text. How odd.
