Neither did I. In fact, since I never followed Game of Thrones, I didn't know exactly who he was when it was announced. Regardless, he indeed has a fine voice -- so fine, in fact, that I recall the REDs had to re-cast one of the other Emhyrs, in an effort to improve the quality of the character's voice in that language (not sure which one it was). His voice was key to personifying that reserved, yet menacing, demeanour.
 
Man that's an awesome video series. III, IV & V were especially great. IV was probably my favorite.

EDIT: It's also humorous that the wandering merchants play such an important role in fixes.

Good links, thanks. It looks like we found an explanation why Eredin is so one-dimensional in the game. According to explanation, CDPR cut the whole Wild Hunt motivation subplot because such subplot didn't fit in the game... which has The Wild Hunt in its title. :facepalm:
 
Argh, always had problems finding different places through English guides, because it didn't match with names in Russian localisation. Jawornik was Mulbrydale there, Dobrowa vs. Honorton, Vereskowka -> Heatherton (and names like Iwasik against Johnny and Witold as Vlodimir Putin in English version). However, except for some irritating issues with regular sped up and slow downs in dialogs (which spawned a few memes here and there), adaptation was superb. I think Keira Metz suffered the most in terms of technical "tongue twisters".

Also, I'd like to correct Marcin about that all songs not being about war. "Song of the Sword Dancer" actually is a Belarussian song about men who coming to war against Khazars, the ones that stole Sergey's (my namesake) lass, and they're about to smash their faces in.

And so the series has come to an end. Was a great three hours or so; enjoyed every minute. :D


About the 6th episode:
Learning more (I'd previously watched a video about just that part of the game) about the soundtrack was great. I've often wondered what the songs are about... never would've guessed the truth.

The bit about the White Orchard scholar I already knew, but I have to say that it is a really nice touch. Never ignore warnings from someone who knows what they're talking about...

Funny how he mixed up pretty much everything in that sentence:
- "Song of the Sword Dancer" is Belarussian
- Croatian song is "Widow-Maker"
- Wedding song is "Steel For Humans" and it's Bulgarian

Anyway, another fun episode and a nice way to wrap up the series.:D

Welp, it's not just small "however", it's a pretty big fail from localization team since it can be easily tracked down. AFAIK every non-english version is sped up/slowed down.

At least there's no such problems in expansion packs. I'm suprised no one remembers this.
 
This whole video series has been awesome :)

Some things were already familiar, but some bits were new. That translation episode was very interesting, since I never realized to think what kinds of things one has to consider, when localizing games.

All in all, I love these kinds of videos. And I'm probably repeating myself, but it's so great to see what happens behind the scenes before we are able to enjoy the final product. I think that parts 3, 4 and 5 were my favorites. And I really hope that we are going to see more videos like these about other CDPR games too :)

What? Where did you get that? In this link they only talked about how they had to scrap this quest due to design related issues.
 
I finished watching part 6 yesterday. The whole series is fascinating. The part that resonated with me the most is in the beginning of the first part where Marcin Iwinski talks about Socialism vs the West. I was born in Hungary, and I'm only five years younger than him. Everything he said about the supermarket, the grayness of Socialism vs the colorful West, the first time at an American fast food restaurant, and kids not being aware what they are missing until they see the abundance, I had the same exact experiences, the same thoughts and feelings when I first visited a Western country (Austria) with my parents when I was around 10 years old. There must be millions of people in my generation who had the same experiences, but this was the first time I heard somebody talk about it.

As for the localization / translation part, I know there is a Hungarian version of The Witcher 3 available (subtitles but not voiceover), but I prefer to play the game (all video games) in English for the reason Golden_Phoenix mentioned. As the majority of information written on the internet is in English, if I played a Hungarian translation of a game, I would have a much harder time finding information and discussions on it than if I know the English version of character names, places etc.
 
Overall it's great documentary, definitely worth watching.

So, you ask me where I've got that and then repeat exactly the point you asked about. And the point is that instead of solving design related issues in the crucial quest that adds dimensions to antagonists they just scraped it. If they didn't like it at all, then they should have added a different quest involving talking to the Wild Hunt riders and Eredin to show them more than just dumb evil mob.

At the time when this quest was deleted, it was probably too late to write and design another one from scratch.
