"Noob" Modding Question

Hi Guys :)I want to preface this by saying I'm VERY much a “Noob” when it comes to modding. I also want to say I've been wanting to get “The Witcher” for a very long time now. But until recently the computer I had SUCKED. I've built a new one and I've got “The Witcher (UK Uncensored) Enhanced version ordered. The Mods I want to add are: Deception, Black Suit with Golden Dragons, Blue Skinned Lady of the Lake, and FellDudes v1.4 (clothing “optional” for Triss, Shani, and Adda.) Can anyone tell me the step by step procedure on how to add these Mods? I've searched and couldn't find the info on EXACTLY how to install them; or if I have to worry about any of these Mods screwing my game up. So can anyone point me in the right direction/provide instructions on installing the mods? I want to thank everyone in advance for their assistance :)Ciao,Quai-gon Jinn

Thank you for your help Treasa :)I'm sorry I forgot to mention that I have Windows XP OS. My plan is once I have the game installed, I was going to install the “Mods” mentioned in my last post. I was planning on playing the entire game to its conclusion with those mods installed. Do you foresee a problem with that? I did check out PanKarol's thread. So, from what you and PanKarol have said can I assume the “default” pathway for the game is in the “shared documents” not “program” files?I guess I'm trying to get a handle on this while I'm waiting for my game to arrive. That way when it does get here I can install it and the mods I want all in one shot.Thank you again in advance Treasa for any additional help you may be able to provide :)Ciao,Quai-gon Jinn

The default pathway for installation will be in your "C:/Program Files" directory. All saved games will be placed into a directory in your "My Documents" directory.

Ok, I don't really want to confuse you before you even start, but, adding the ADV files will not change the original game, but some mods have additional sound or other files that will make some minor changes. When those happen, saving the original game files they replace before you install the changed files will allow you to restore the game to original setup. Those sorts of changes are usually heavily featured in the readme files that come with the zipped mod, so as long as you read those, you'll be okay, because they will tell you what you need to do and what will be changed. The default for the game is the program files. The default for your game saves is theWitcher folder inside the My documents folder. The proper place for the ADV files is the Witcher folder inside the shared documents folder.Whether you'll have any problems or not, I can't say. I haven't had any so far and I've loaded 6 or 7 of the mods. There are threads for each mod in this area. Pay attention to who actually made the module. They will be able to help you tweak if you need to and the rest of the community is very giving about helping people enjoy this game. :peace:
