Not a single red mutagen found!

I'm level 14, and I haven't found a single red mutagen despite trying earnestly. I looked at the red mutagen farming guides, but all I got from those were named mutagens or lesser greens and blues..

Is this normal?

Go to Downwarren, right to the right side beneath are 3 left houses. An alghoul spawns in this abandoned part of the villige. He drops all kinds of lesser mutagens, also red ones. But u might have to kill a couple to get one. Once one is dead meditate an hour for a respawn. If he stops respawning save ur game, load it and keep waiting an hour.

Mobs above level 13-15, I'd say, especially on Skellige. You'll get a lot of red mutagens

Thanks, this one actually worked for me. It took three times, but I finally got one!

They really need to change the mutagen system. Named mutagens should be either more powerful, or be able to make a more powerful mutagen (like lesser mutagens), because otherwise they are nearly useless.
