Some people really don't get the difference between complaining and giving feedback. That city simply does not look like Novigrad. Most importantly, it's missing city walls, secondly the city itself is supposed to be one of the biggest in The Witcher universe, even downscaled it should be a bit bigger.
In TW1, the game was not open world so CDPR could afford to block off parts of Vizima to the player. Now that they've decided to go open world AND show us one of the biggest cities in the Northern Kingdoms, they need something more impressive than what is shown in the screenshot.
@AngelOfPassion If you included all the building described in the books that means around 120-150 buildings that are not houses for the residents, as well as a castle, a guard tower and city walls. Looking at that tiny city, the building are maybe enough to accomodate all of that, but then you wouldn't be able to place the houses, which need to be much more than the amount of commercial buildings in the city. We are, after all, talking about a population of 30k+ people.
Now, for comparison, this is a picture of the village I grew up in:
It supports 600+ people.
Now, I can see that roughly filling up the part of Novigrad, without the area with several towers coming out of it (I assume that's the castle). Keep in mind that the picture I've provided is that of a village, it consists mostly of homes, not commercial buildings. This is why I believe, that the amount of buildings shown in the screenshot might be enough to support a decently sized population (for a heavily downscaled game world, anyway) but that settlement needs to grow nearly twice that size to really give the illusion of a big, important city.
It's really hard for me to believe that the screenshot really is that of Novigrad, especially considering some missing features (again, the city walls being the most notable omission). I mean, it's CDPR, the last thing I expect from them is to mess up their lore.
