But do you own The Witcher Adventure Game?!

Nobody here knows how long you typically play for, it could take you a few days or a few weeks to beat those games. Just start now.

Depends on how many hours a day you would invest...

It's just another Witcher game that not a lot of people have heard of, it's a board game, but it is available on GoG/Steam. And I'm pretty sure it unlocks Geralt's fathers sword so you should totally play it. (This is sarcasm, it unlocks nothing.)

That gives about 93-96 hours at most. I say it's doable.

There is a gear import system from Witcher 1 to 2. But AFAIK Witcher 3 will not transfer gear.

And the gear you could transfer from W1 and W2 was outclassed in less than 2 or 3 hours anyway... ;)

So if you just want to play the games in order to transfer gear it's totally not worth it. Play the games for the story and gameplay. Play them for their own good. :)

Yes, quite possible.

Edit: This comment is not referencing the question above me.

Yes story choices do carry over. But from what we've heard so far it won't affect the main story, but it will bring more flavor to your game through other means.

It really depends on whether or not you want to be a completionist on it. It's definitely possible to play through both games in that time period. Just don't spend time grinding (you don't really need to anyway).

Have fun, both games were fun and I played the ever loving crap out of them. I still play TW 2 quite often and it'll be nice to see the changes that have been made to TW 3.

If you want to learn more about the world and its characters before W3 and you only have limited time I actually recommend reading the books.

If you still have time left, play the games. Or just watch some summaries on youtube if you don't.

If you're mostly looking for lore, I'd prefer the books over the games any day. ;)
