Now playing [music]

You just missed Bananas by Little Big. Very silly song. (Just as silly video, too.)

Now, it's currently 18th variation "Inversion in D♭ Major" from Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. (An accidentally beautiful work that he was sad he can't claim is his. It's Paganini's Caprice theme flipped upside down.)

The shuffle playlist shows that Varijashree Venugopal's Harivaa Jhari is going to play next. (A recent purchase to my library of 100+ hours... which I only play on full, blind, no-algorithm shuffle.)

This morning's shuffle on the way into work
  • started with the Brecker Brothers' Some Skunk Funk (1975)—Randy's solo is... interesting but Michael's is more traditional of the era,
  • was followed by Public Service Broadcasting's Gagarin (2021)—which, yes, is a song about the first extraplanetary journey in our history,
  • and ended with Gerry Mulligan's cover of Vince Guaraldi's Rain, Rain Go Away (1987), the last note playing as I parked—an interesting cover as the original is very simple with 4-note phrases instead of 6 and 7.
(This is the first time I've seen the Gagarin video. Funny.)

I never know what's going to pop up on the shuffle... and that's how I like it.

I want this to play if V decides to assault heads-on that Maelstrom initiation place instead of merely stealing the recording. It's my style: why steal when you can kick the front door and have a nice sparring session? Is Rite of Passage the name of the quest?

This one... Imagine the eery scene of a swarm of MaiMais going down the street from the red peaks pass, while taking all the lanes.

Spoiler? I love this destroyer song. I know that’s PANAM! I wonder what’s the name of it.
