Think about making a collection of albums to give to my son when he's older, one from every year that sort of represents the year. The rules are simple - (1) it has to be really good; (2) no repeat artists; (3) one album per year. I'm starting it in 1965 and then one album per year after. Here is what I've come up with so far:

  1. Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
  2. Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys
  3. Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart Club Band by the Beatles
  4. Bookends by Simon and Garfunkel
  5. Everybody Knows This is Nowhere by Neil Young and Crazy Horse
  6. Loaded by the Velvet Underground
  7. Led Zeppelin (IV) by Led Zeppelin
  8. Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie
  9. The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd
  10. Court and Spark by Joni Mitchell
  11. Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen
  12. Songs in the Key of Life by Stevie Wonder
  13. Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
  14. Some Girls by the Rolling Stones
  15. London Calling by the Clash
  16. Back in Black by AC/DC
  17. Ghost in the Machine by the Police
  18. Thriller by Michael Jackson
  19. Violent Femmes by the Violent Femmes
  20. Purple Rain by Prince and the Revolution
  21. Meat is Murder by the Smiths
  22. Raising Hell by Run DMC
  23. The Joshua Tree by U2
  24. Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth
  25. Full Moon Fever by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
  26. Shake Your Money Maker by the Black Crowes
  27. Nevermind by Nirvana
  28. Automatic for the People by R.E.M.
  29. August and Everything After by Counting Crows

That's... seriously awesome!
I'm pretty pumped about the idea. I'm just not pumped that I'm gonna have to buy like 10-15 cds from the list that I don't already own in their entirety. But it's okay ... I've got like 8 years before my son is old enough that I would feel comfortable introducing him to some of this.

Revolution time! Initialising the 100th anniversary removal of rotten capitalism with its microtransactions (lootboxes, paid mods etc.) and replacement of EA with CDP RED that will give each gamer a free DLC. Hooray, comrades!

Listened to one Rolling Stones song, and left YouTube's autoplay on. I can definitely see (hear?) why the band is as famous as it is. Currently listening to "Sway":
