NPC and Vehicles disappearing right in front of you? No more!

+
If you observe the NPCs and vehicles in the world you will often see them vanishing into thin air — even at distances that aren't very far from the player.

This is a real shame because Night City is such a wonderful sight to behold (not to mention all the enemies you want to snipe within the range of your rifles...)

Disappearing NPC and Vehicle Fix fixes that immersion-breaking behavior, with virtually no impact on performance.

Watch the 1 min video showcasing the difference (for detailed performance test see here).

• Fix the annoying humming background noise in the menu and inventory ➜ Mute Menu Humming
• Fix the police's often unreasonable behavior of attacking players ➜ Fighting Gangs Allowed

"NPC and Vehicles disappearing right in front of you? No more!"

You know, I saw your first video on Nexus but didn't understand what you meant, as I didn't see the issue at hand. Now that I see your second video here with the rifle scope, it's all too clear. Although I've never noticed this behavior before, It seems to me to be implemented to prevent a pile up of traffic/crowds.

In other words, I think it's a fix.

Also, I see quite some issues occurring if cars are unable to despawn in front of you. Especially as a passenger when you seemingly can no longer use quickhacks against vehicles. And yeah, when traffic in front of you actually does gets stuck and cars do not despawn when looking away, that's a problem.

Of course the game has to despawn NPC and vehicles at some point, otherwise everyone's PC would crash 10 minutes into the game. The problem is CPDR set values that are way too close to the player. The NPCs you see in the video, I can't even snipe them because they disappear into thin air well within the range of my rifle.

My mod doesn't stop NPC or vehicles from despawning, it just picks a good value so it's not too close, but also not too far as to impact performance nor cause pile-up.

The vehicle hiccup that I see and that is repeatable is when I'm driving North at a high speed on that straightaway in the southern part of the map (to the East of all those warehouses which are along the waterfront, it runs past that sunset motel, about a 3KM straightaway) I frequently see cars blink into existence in front of me, then instantly disappear. I never crash into them, but it does ruin the mood. Maybe I just drive too fast.

It happens north of sunset motel if driving super fast.

Can you make a mod to restore the Satori Katana back to it's glory?
