NPCs does nothing since Patch 1.10
I play The Witcher 3 on Origin. I tried game file verification, disabled every mod I have, reload the save before the problem happened.
Some NPCs does not act and just stands still as if they have no animation. They don't even breathe.
I first find the problem on Ves in quest 'Eye for an eye'. In that quest, Ves was standing there, not defending herself against the nilfgaardian soldiers, taking every hit the soldiers threw. However, although it broke immersion seriously, it was not a game breaking bug, so I didn't care much.
Then I encountered same bug on 'the Isle of the Mist', when finding the dwarf Gasfard. When I found him in the lighthouse, he was not sleeping but stood there motionlessly. When I talked to him, the cutscene where Geralt wakes him up showed and Geralt and Gasfard got down from the lighthouse and the quest to protect him occured. However, Gasfard did not move a bit from where he stood. It WAS a game breaking bug since it is a part of the main quest, so I could not ignore it.
With annoyance, after I tried every method to fix it but ended with no result, I decided to start a new game until the quest is fixed. In White Orchard, after getting out of the first inn Geralt encounters three thugs. Unlike my first playthrough I didn't Axii one of them this time. Then the same problem occurred on the thug who spoke with Geralt. He stood there motionlessly while the fist fight. When I defeated rest two of them, the stopped thug was standing there neither dead or alive, so I could not end the battle. It's another game breaking bug.
So I conclude that it is not about some quest script, but every NPCs who have a role in a quest and in an encounter. Surely, the game cannot be played in this shape.
I played this game with great joy for last two weeks and I hope the game experience does not end with 'I could never finish that game because the stupid patch destroyed my game just before I get the ending'.
