Nudity? What Happened?

You can also pick up two hookers.

Who have clothes on in the following scenes. I've done Judy scenes and Im pretty sure those didn't go further than glimpse of a nipple.

Overall, it feels like every scene which was shown to feature nudity in the advertisements, was replaced with clothed versions.

Did this stripper have bra in the trailers? I don't think so.

It is clear they backpedaled with the nudity, for reasons Im not sure of. Probably to avoid further controversy and sell more.

Congrats. You realised just one facet of the lie we were sold.

No nudity.

Tons of cut content.

Linear story.

Life paths don’t matter.

It’s literally a Cyberpunk flavoured GTA if GTA had a mental illness and didn’t know how to GTA.

The combat feels like a Borderlands that was dropped on its head as a child.

The driving feels like you’re driving over oil slicks constantly.

The world can’t even keep up with itself, Street lights for example are notorious for just not being on until you roll up—and sometimes don’t turn on until after you’re nearly fully down the road.

The romance is shallow, the characters are pretty one note.

V is built up for a bit and then absolutely nothing you do in the game gives V an actual fix for his problem.

The world does not change in any meaningful way.

Your choices up until the actual end of the game don’t matter in any meaningful way.

Jackie only exists in the prologue, and that’s rushed as hell, so you never really form a real connection with him.

This game is just... not what was marketed. At all. CDPR showed it’s true colours—but the only positive thing I can say is this game made me want to actually play Cyberpunk Red and play the guitar. That’s it. Not much positive I can say about the game, looking at the big picture.

Can’t buy a house. Can’t buy a better apartment. Clothing is just palette swaps of a limited quantity of clothing options.

Cyberware is either skin deep, or purely mechanical—nothing aside from what you put on your hands and arms actually changes how you look. That’s it.

Tattoos are limited.

You only see yourself naked in the main menu. That’s it. None of the sex scenes. But you can see other characters nude—well, as nude as you can imagine, but more nude than you can be.

Character creation aesthetically is limiting and subpar.

I can go on, but I’m sure you’ve all heard it before.

I couldn't give a fig about having sex in this game, but dude's got a point.

The sex and or nudity isn't even really the issue. It's creating what feels like a real world. And in the real world nudity and sex exist, strippers are not covered with strips of tape, and fully clothed men in suits don't dance in the windows of sex clubs. This kind of foolishness completely kills immersion for me. It would be better if they were edited completely out of the game.

BINGO! This is all because of the console market and CDPR wanting 8 million pre-orders instead of only 3 mil. I still think all of this will be addressed with PC exclusive DLC, or at least I remain hopeful that it will. ;)

I know it's not the focus of the game, and I would really want the underwear to be removed once inside of apartments and private spaces. They could also do what so many Sony games have done in the past, and that's put restrictions on when you are able to take screenshots. Some games, during certain scenes like account sensitive information showing, games will block the use of screenshots; furthermore this could be implemented across every version (share button and printscreen does nothing during sex or private residences) and it is not a hard thing to do. It at least would curb the impulse to share every screenshot of graphic nudity, but I digress -- the cat is out of the bag, and there is no putting it back into the bag. Having a scene with a penis or a vagina, while simultaneously blocking breasts or chest area, then showing genitals in the vanity screen while making us wear underwear in 1st person for some archaic and obscure ruleset because parents just won't pay attention to warning labels is insulting to those of us who are in fact over the age of 18. I would have rather they not had any nudity at all than tease us with half of it to coddle people who just can't control their own impulses.

All of that said, I do agree that a certain portion of the game is pornographic in nature, and the decision to craft that for mass media consumption escapes me, but on the other hand, showing genitals for the purposes of playing a role in a video game with softcore sex scenes is not pornographic because it is also done worldwide on the big screen as a means to illustrate a character's motivations and desires, etc. There's a line that shouldn't be crossed unless you really want to sell this as X rated on the shelves of porn shops, but I'm worried they'll end up removing genitals altogether rather than giving us exactly what we want. They could perhaps add a piece of paid DLC as a means to inject pornographic images into the game to circumvent restrictions; it worked for Saboteur with the Midnight Club DLC, and I really can't understand why they didn't go that route to avoid censorship. This way moms and dads are happy their kids can't unintentionally be subjected to porno, and the rest of us can have a choice.

I'm happy that nudity isn't a big thing, didn't want it to be a big thing in the game from the get-go. Tbh wish it was even less, unhappy with all the risque adverts everywhere.

I donned my biker trench coat, armored fedora, and sunglasses and went to some of the sex shops.....There were some seriously freaky things to be found.......I haven't been able to purchase anything yet but a boy can still hope.

nobody can tell for sure, we speculate maybe its ESRB requirements to tone down nudity so kids can play on consoles without parents going on strike.

I am also in this camp. Less is better.
Mature folks understand what happens / is happening and do not necessarily need it explicitily acted out in front of them, or need to interact with it directly.

Some of the statements are being made here that shake me. Are providers or markets to blame? The game is a critique of uncontrolled capitalism and its corporations and then you accept that? Parents don't want their children to see naked people? Do we live on the same planet? Do you have enough oxygen? Why shouldn't my child see bare skin? I'm more concerned about a head blown away by a shotgun than a penis or tit when it comes to what my son is allowed to look at. No idea how the first sexual contact between young people takes place in these countries... probably with censored instructions from comics. Has the world outside Europe been stuck in the Victorian era?

Then let the Nudity toggle do its job?

It was promised and in many interviews they said it was important for a game like Cyberpunk to have full nudity.
If you don't want it use the toggle.

And for those that want what was promised?
Let us convey our complaints. It's the only way we both get what we want yes?

SO use the toggle and CDPR give us back what was promised.

I am still looking for any official statements in regards to how much nudity/when/where/to what extent/etc. Does anyone have any links to such references?

It would seem to me that the frustration is most likely a case of what was expected not lining up with what was actually promised. Based on what I have been able to find, I have not seen anything I would consider to be at the levels many here are claiming to have been "promised" by CDPR.

I have the block nudity toggle off, and I have yet to see much nudity apart from character creation, so would agree that it seems rather pointless.

Thank you for the reply.

Thanks for the link, that article I do believe I have seen previously. It seems to deal specifically with the character creation and the Scav mission.

1. They removed the censorship boxes in character creation, as stated.
2. If I recall the rescued woman was still naked, yet they added boxer shorts to the other person who was with her in the ice tub.
3. The article also goes on about using not using nudity for shock value alone.

“Nudity is important for us because of one reason,” Badowski said. “This is cyberpunk, so people augment their body. So the body is no longer sacrum [sacred]; it’s profanum [profane]. Because people modify everything, they are losing their connection to the body, to the meat. And that’s why we need to use the nudity in many situations."

To me, that reads as the non/less modified human bodies are still considered sacred and less likely to be shown "nude." The opposite would apply to heavily modified/less "human" entities. Or to paraphrase even more, the intent is to portray nudity in an artful but still respectful manner for "human NPCs."

To the extent that this is applied does seem a bit inconsistent, but since I think it is safe to say that since we cannot trust every CP2077 player to feel the same, players are given minimal control over this aspect.

Thanks again and thanks for the reply!

Clarification: I'm coming at ya with everything I got cause CDPR gonna make millions whether I rag on y'all or not (you know it and I know it).

The game is good. You promised "great" and "groundbreaking" (on a number of fronts).

I hope you take the criticism in stride and make the game your fans want instead of being dogmatic about your artsy "design" choices.

nuttin but love!
Judy's wetsuit

IKR, what a total tease putting Judy in that wetsuit scene just before she dips out on ya.. I was thinking maybe the option to switch Panam with Judy for the love interest.

Mature folks also understand what happens with killing, murder, theft, massacre. so we dont need that ingame also. We need safe space.
