Nvidia and AMD releases drivers for The Witcher 3 ?

Hi, in this week amd and nvidia release on same day GTA V specific drivers. What will happen with The Witcher 3?
I know that CD PROJEKT has a partnership agreement with nvidia but The Witcher 3 works fine with R9 Graphic Cards ?
I have preordened this game on GoG, when is available the preload ?

Greetings from Spain, I wish you the best CDPROJEKT. I LOVE YOU GUYS ^_^

I really hope such drivers won't be necessary. If developers followed specifications, and drivers are compliant, nothing like that is ever needed. Custom drivers tailored for some games are used as a weird way of cheating game engines. I.e. instead some shaders used by the program, the driver substitutes some kind of weird quirky and non standard variants which supposedly make it work faster. This whole situation is a mess, and if you think more into it, nothing like this should be encouraged.

Note, the above doesn't apply to drivers fixing bugs revealed by some games - that's perfectly fine. I'm talking about shaders cheating and other weird things which turn drivers into the unpredictable and incompatible mess they are now. Such practices by Nvidia and AMD hurt game developers.

Real high-performance hardware and software has an annoying way of having nothing to do with committees that go about writing standards for products that they do not develop.

Tailoring drivers to save another millisecond per frame represents bragging rights and more money in the bank. Forcing developers to conform to standards that were written to garner majority votes of committees rather than develop software that works the best it can be made to work on its intended platform results in inferior products and reduced sales.

Even if all the proposed standards including DX12 and Vulkan were implemented perfectly, there would be so much room for improvement and so much demand for game developers to improve their performance by taking liberty with the standards that it's my prediction that every game delivered under DX12 or Vulkan will take such liberties, to the extent that performance can be improved by "cheating" or even that the game needs "cheating" to work at all.

Perfect standards and perfect implementations of standards do not exist in an imperfect and competitive world.
