As stated a few times... because GameWorks is not Nvidia limited, a few effects are but other than that GameWorks isn't limited to Nvidia-only hardware.

But I doubt we will see any GameWorks effects on consoles. Other GameWorks games doesn't use its features on consoles.

Yes, because they just slap it on top of their game to beef up the PC version. CDPR is making their game with GameWorks integrated.

We already know things like the furtech for example ARE going to be on the consoles thanks to the GDC graphs.

Check here, I think there was a mention of how they are implementing it on the consoles in this one, can't check for myself right now.

Actually those slides show something exactly opposite. According to them PC is the only platform for Hairworks.

Hmm, all the slides for the Gameworks tech only mentioned the PC as the platform.

Hmm, then this is probably not the slides I am thinking of, they were in the Interview and Article thread and there was quite the commotion about it as far as I recall.

That's really strange then because for example GameWorks includes APEX Destruction and APEX Clothing, and that works on well pretty much all platforms, both current and last gen.

EDIT: The PhysX SDK, APEX Particles too.

Well, I actually asked you for your source, because I couldn't find any article/article that would mention consoles. They were talking only about PC, in every article and interview I found, so I'm not sure about that.

Really there isn't much need to worry. Amd chipsets are used in the xbone and ps4, considering it will have a ton of sales on both those platforms I highly doubt that it won't run good on amd machines. Maybe that's why it took an extra 6 months, either way it would damn near be suicide for it to not run well on amd.

And for all those trashing amd just remember, if amd acted like nvidia does it would be nvidea left in the cold since every single next gen console uses amd cards which is a larger market than gaming PCs. Nvidea needs to knock it off with the proprietary BS. Proprietary is only good for the people making money, not those of us using the product.

From what we've seen so far Gameworks is for PC only.

You'll have to look in that thread then, I just posted the link after searching for TW3 and hairworks GDC and pasted the link, as mention before can't check right now because internet or DNS is being shit.

Well you said GameWorks tech, pretty sure all the ones I mentioned ARE part of GameWorks.

The slides mention specific Gameworks tech that I assume has been implemented in The Witcher 3. These are: Physx Flex, ShadowWorks, PostWorks, FaceWorks, Turbulence, HairWorks, FlameWorks; each of which list PC as the only platform. APEX Destruction and Clothing isn't specifically mentioned.

Would it be possible to get a clarification from the devs about the role and effect that Gameworks will have for Nvidia and AMD users?

You didn't post it in this thread. No need to hurry, you can post it later if you find it, but I'm skeptical about fur on consoles.

Well yeah, consoles are amd. If they did get game works working on console then it could work on amd based computers as well.

Oh I know which slides these are now... if I recall correctly the first half were by CDPR the other from Nvidia.

Yeah sorry :p I'll check it out later, it is moderation hell at this time of the year.

EDIT:
Oh and you can check which modules work on which platforms here and possibly on the GameWorks site.

Ac3 and 4 had good fur effects even when using an and card. So its possible, might not be as great as a PC with an nvidea card though

From linked site: "GPU acceleration is not supported on consoles. All the supplementary PhysX effects are available on PC only."

And only two modules mention possibility of using it on PS4/X1 - Destruction and Clothing. Hairworks is PC only.

It's no Nvidia Hairworks because, so far COD Ghost is the only game that was using it.

I stand corrected about Hairworks then.
Oh and that quote is referring to 360 and PS3, PhysX 2.0 what we're talking about is PhysX 3.0. The effects we're referring to did not even exist in 2.0 and it did not have any CPU optimizations per se. And yes GPU accelerated PhysX effects(and turbulence) will only work on nvidia hardware of course. But I was referring to PhysX SDK in general being used as the middleware instead of Havok or Bullet, that too is part of GameWorks.

Found this quote from CDP’s lead engine developer, Balázs Török, when asked about the new hair and fur effects, Balázs said that – at this moment – these aforementioned effects run on AMD Radeon GPUs.

“At the moment it works, but if it can run at the end, the decision of Nvidia. What matters is the direction in which they continue to develop the technology and whether and what barriers they are installed. But I think it will also run on Radeon graphics cards.“

To be honest this quote sounds very non-CDPR. Developer that is talking a lot about treating all gamers right etc. saying they are not sure if their partner will order them to block some features from their competition or not. It's kinda sad actually.
