'New' version out!
Instructions.txt said:
2. History: ===========12/08/2007v0.9: Initial release. Journals were in Polish.12/11/2007v1.0: Journals now in english as well!12/24/2007v1.01: Updated the .tlk files to their 1.2 patched version. Added this file to the .zip. 3. Known Inconsistencies: =========================English has flint item name in polish. There also some 'bandit' instancesinstead of 'Bandit'.English & FinalEnglish have several item names tagged differently(e.g.: 'Silk Scarf' is 'Golden Shawl', 'Red Shawl' is 'Shawl').English & FinalEnglish have some item names wrong(e.g.: 'Fish' is 'Cheese', 'Sausages' are 'Nuts and Dried Fruits').English & FinalEnglish have several seemingly out-of-placelines in the Prologue dialogues. They're still coherent with plot. Some map tags are still in polish (complete with [dev] tasks).

Yes, I overlooked the .key files. I've uploaded a new .rar file with those two files inside.

@1eyedking: since the link you posted for the Vista language fix is http ://www.sendspace.com/delete/yrt1bn/5a8e2, maybe you need to upload the file again!?!?!?!? (since the first person that tried to download the file actually deleted it from sendspace, imho)also maybe you can put it up somewhere else too, like rapidshare or something, since at least for me Sendspace _always_ says that the slots for my country are full.

Wow great "fix" 1eyedking it really makes a huge difference in the personality of the game!(I never knew Geralt was so polite in the original dialog) Hats off to you my friend! :)PS:Could somebody with the Polski voice files PM them to me? I love watching foreign films in their original language, and I think the Witcher deserves that honor! Thank you. :)

In case you wonder how the retail English script/voiceover works against the uncut English script/Polish voiceover, I've created a video to illustrate the difference. The Witcher - Conversation Comparison, keep in mind you will want to watch this full-screened in order to read the subtitles.

Does one need to acquire a copy of the polish version on order to be able to do this?

Can someone give me a detailed explanation of what is different between "english original" and "english optimized"? What exactly was changed in the optimized version?I'm undertaking my first play through the game and I'd really like to have a better idea of the difference before I start.

yes, one needs the polish voice-overs (since the english ones will be out-of-sync with the subtitles, and will cut-down the time the subtitles stay on screen)

see this postalso, change the language ( from the cut-down english one to the original/optimized ) when you reach Act I, since the prologue is messed up in the original/optimized version.

Hello all,Just spend several hours to finally decide, what version i want to play. I got two of them now: Russian version, and European multilingual. Russian is translated from original uncut version (yes, "pricks in cunts" is on the place), but voices is awful, much worse than English VO. So i think, the best will be complete english script with the Poland voices. Could someone PM me link to Poland voices, please? Thanks!

I've bought the game today and immediately activated your english original script. I'm shocked how butchered and estranged the retail version is. Knowing about that, I cannot fully enjoy the game, I'd always have that "something's wrong here"-feeling.So I'd be grateful to get the original Polish voices, too. I also don't think that it could be illegal or something to share the voice samples. To make use of them, you have to buy the game anyway, haven't you? ;)Otherwise, please PM me, I would be thankful.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask if someone could PM me a link to the Polish dialogue. Someone mentioned a torrent existed in a certain bay of piratey origins, but I couldn't find it.

FYI, it looks like if you're one of the unfortunate few running XP-64, the XP fix puts the registry key in the wrong place. I didn't check if the Vista fix works or not, I just manually moved it over. Also, would someone mind please PMing me a link to the Polish voiceovers? I agree that it doesn't seem illegal to post that file which is on the disc and which is only useful if you have the game.
