Fist off 1eyedking, your fix works great. I'm currently using the fix on my UK Witcher with Vista fix on 1.2 and it works great. Also to anybody else out, there if they could PM me the Polish voice file, or at least host it on a download site the voice file itself, i know alot of people would like to have the original Polish voices without having to buy a whole other version of the game just to get the one file.

First off, absolutely amazing work 1eyedking, I love you. I honestly can't imagine going back to the original awful dialog. One question though. What does the newest patch do? I've been running the Dec 24 version on Vista32 fine. Is there a reason for me to upgrade? Thanks.

I am using the Polish voice file + 1eyedking's original script mod and when the Prologue ends Just after Geralt and Triss part ways, my game crashes.....what's going on here?

just use the english VO + english cut-down dialog for the Prologue, since there rather messed up in the Full scriptafter you reach the Outskirts of Vizima you can change them to the Full script + polish VO.

the language fix was updated, since some files (mainly dialog_3.tlk) were updated with Patch 1.2so if you have the game patch 1,2, then you should get the updated version of the language fix.

Quick question about the Polish voice file:Is renaming the voice file from voices_5_00.bif to voices_3_00.bif the best way to play with Polish voices?....or is there a better way?I noticed some oddities in the Prologue with the Polish voiced dialogue....

@Blacksun1942: dude, change the language ( from the cut-down english one to the original/optimized ) when you reach Act I, since the prologue is messed up in the original/optimized version.

Yeah, I know I did that. How about for the rest of the game in general. Is it better to rename the Polish voice file or is there another more compatible way?

My copy of The Witcher arrived today, and I excitedly played through the prologue, so I could get to where I could switch it into Polish + Original Script. I have the polish language set up fine, but I can't seem to get the original script to load. I downloaded the vista patch, extracted all the files into the Data folder, ran the English (Original) reg key, checked to see if it worked (It's listed under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/CD Projekt Red/The Witcher, with Language having the value of 1).So overall, I cannot see anything I did wrong in that process, if I have, can someone point it out?I'm on Act 1, with the 1.2 patch. It's easy to check that the original script hasn't loaded: The dwarf blacksmith's dialogue is exactly the same, as is everyone else that I've checked. And the title of 'Flint' is still in english, even though when listed under the 'Known Inconsistencies' it should be in Polish. Thanks, hoping to get an answer soon: finding out that there was a way to play it in Polish with the original script was what made me want to buy this game, due to being disappointed by how the dialogue in the demo could be somewhat illogical at times.

Try changing the language key to 1 here HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CD Projekt Red\The Witcher and see if that works. Also, are you using vista 32 or 64-bit?

It works! I was right, it was something stupidly simple that I'd overlooked as a possible means of making it work. Also, for the record, I'm using 32-bit Vista. Thanks PXMM.

Glad it worked. It looks like that vista 64-bit is unique in using the "Wow6432Node" key instead of the same one as other versions of windows.

Congratulations! Sounds like a very nice mod for people with the censored version (aka Yanks :p).I'll let you know if I ever update this fix, but probably I'll move on to the SDK when it's released.
