I know it wasn't the best way to start a thread, but this is getting REALLY irritating. I wish they would at least SAY something about the concerns.A very bad way to open up a thread, IMHO.
Nevertheless, I fully agree that the downgrade from everything else released is very obvious.
Marcin really, REALLY needs to address this, any explanation why the trailer looks the way it looks will help get my hopes back up. As it stand, I'm quite woried, to say the least.
I really don't think that YouTube compression can be blamed for lowpoly models and very basic lightning in most of those scenes. When the uncompressed high quality version of that trailer is released even if there is a visual downgrade compared to what was shown previously you still have to take things into context. We don't know with what footage the trailer was made. It could be from a months old build, and it could be with console limited graphics. Also it's not like the trailer showed any actual in-game non-cutscene gameplay from the player's perspective. We don't have enough information to make a good comparison.
However using basic logic, and knowledge of what CD Projekt has said in the past and what they stand for, there really shouldn't be much doubt that there will be no visual downgrade on PC. There might be on consoles since they have to maintain good performance, but on PC there's no reason for that to happen.
