I continue to say that trailers are a different thing. I too notice differences but don't feel cheated in any way. In addiction, those differences are more related to the mood and the general impression but that doesn't mean much since the game is huge and will offer many scenarios and lighting situations. The previews show that characters are wonderfully rendered, world is beautifully rendered, there are some minor drops in quality and work to do with optimization. All this in an open world game, and it's not a side note. Since the game isn't out yet this seems to be way more than satisfactory...

Will Cd projekt lett us down (us-pc gamers). First they announced recommended specs are for game @ max settings, 60 fps and now what is this talk about only 30 fps at max + it is not much more impresive than ps4, difference is quite small. lol HD 7870 vs R9 290.I am pulling facts from this article

All you do is spread FUD just as this article does.

In an interview with a Polish gaming site Badowski said as follows:

MEETING THE RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS WILL LET YOU PLAY THE GAME AT 30 FPS

So no, they are not "sticking to 30 FPS" or locking it. They will even include Ubersampling mode if you want to kill your PC. As they are developing for 3 platforms at once - with 2 they didn't have too much(or any as with PS4) experience with - they need to find balance between performance and graphical fidelity of the game.

They are also limited by time and human resources, as not all of those 230 people work on the engine side of development.

This.
And I allow myself to add that no one ever stated that recommended specs were intended for max @60 fps..

Gregski please tell us than what will let us play this game at 60 fps on max ? 2x Gtx 970/980 or will mine one 970 suffice ? Is it not normal for people with 7870 to not be able to have experience as one have with ps4?

And where did they say anything on the contrary to that? Do we know the PS4 settings preset? HD 7870 might as well give the same graphical results as a PS4 at 30 FPS, given the same settings are used (If one can find which settings were used on a PS4). Do we know that? Of course not. Do we know the contrary? Of course not. All we can do are educated/reasonable guesses.

How would I know that? All I have is current system requirements on one side and my PC on the other. All I can do is estimate and adjust my expectations from the game accordingly. Definitely not overspend on my PC just for one game without proper performance analysis, benchmarks etc that will only come out after it's released.

And even if I decided to spend big bucks on big iron right now, anyone I can blame if I somehow don't get the perfomance I want is me, noone else.

And I remember some time ago people on this forum was saying that they want this game to rape their PC's. So why are people complaining now about high system requirements? Im not saying you were one of those people though. Still find it funny.

I'm guessing you mean at a solid minimum of 30fps. The recommended specs will allow smooth gameplay, without frame drops bellow 30.
Some people seem to take it too literally, that it's locked at 30fps, which it is not.

I'm willing to accept that they lacked the development time to do platform-specific optimizations. That's fine. I understand they use one engine that targets multiple platforms. That's fine.

What has me worried, is whether they're going to remove scalability from the PC version. That even 10 years from now, the game will be 'configuration-locked' and unable to take advantage of new computational power, due to some misguided attempt to homogenize with the console. This will be a way for cdprojekt to flush their good relationship with PC gamers down the toilet. I hope this is just scaremongering or leaping to conclusions and they have more sense than that.

What I just want to know if the 30fps estimate is really max, including the overkill options that don't make *that* much of a visual difference like very high AA, ubersampling and other things like that.

Panaceum if rape means much better quality than console port than rape it by all means. But if rape means marginally better than ps4 it is not justified !

I think we are all starting to sound like broken records at this point. The core of the issue for me is twofold :

- The engine in the VGX trailer clearly showed a volumetric quality to its lighting. It added depth and atmosphere. The skin also didn't look as flat as the recent screenshots, it seems that some form of screen-space subsurface scattering has been removed. My hope is that those features are locked behind the Ultra settings as they no doubt will prove very memory and computation-expensive.

- Every single time that the words "platform parity" have been uttered, it has been synonymous with lazy PC port and political statements in favour of the consoles. Because piracy or whatever. You guys know first-hand how bullshit this is. You created gog. You are giving 16 DLCs away for free. You provided support for TW2 for more than a year after its release. You released TW2 without DRM in the face of your own publisher. You did and still get how to do things right. You have shown guts and vision before kickstarter even came along to prove everyone wrong.

So hearing these words come out of a CDProjekt lead is, to say the least, very scary if true. You guys used to be the poster child for PC development, showing for the first time in a while all the untapped power of the platform. I understand the point you make regarding manpower and engineering complexity. But providing higher resolution assets, various object draw distances and giving us the choice to melt our rigs in the fashion we desire doesn't sound too difficult. This is what we want, not ubersampling or nvidia bullshit. I would understand if you pulled previous rendering techniques for stability or performance reason. No problem, this is how it goes. Things get prototyped, look good and end up in trailers. Game development happens, things break and can't be fixed with a behemoth of a game lurking over your shoulder. But you didn't tell us that, instead we got these statements that make it feel like they have been pulled away to make the consoles look good.

This doesn't sound like you guys at all, but I understand where the concerns comes from. All in all, I wish you the best and can't wait for may :).

And people who own a GTX 970 will be rewarded for that, as they'll have a game that looks and runs much better than the PS4 version of the game.

So? Do you expecting me to buy PS4 and became a filthy peasant? Are you crazy? Nah, just kidding (No, seriously I'm just kidding. Please dont ban me for saying that. I love consoles. Consoles are the best. Some of my good friends are consoles. Really). Did I said anything that Im ok wih that? Everything will depend how good PC version will look and run on ultra. To be honest, I thought I will have to buy second gpu to run W3 on ultra anyway.

But I want nvidia bullshit. That is why I bought nvidia in the first place :(
