Well alright you've put your reputation on the line as CM. Big question: What exactly happened with the Elder Blood trailer. It's obvious not a compression issue.Glad I could help. The game is awesome. Once you guys play it, you will see it for yourselves.
I wouldn't say it's putting the reputation on the line. I see this game everyday. I know how it looks like and it looks damn good! Sure, some people may say that it doesn't but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I think it's one of the best looking games out there and definitely the prettiest RPG I've ever played.Well alright you've put your reputation on the line as CM. Of course! I meant guys as in people. Sorry for the confusion.Hope girls too
Anyway, you, CDPR have stolen our heart long before....
Never mind. I was kidding, though as far as I could assume, the claims come from guys.... so you had a point in your sentenceOf course! I meant guys as in people. Sorry for the confusion.
I believe Chris had mentioned whatever people were there in the studio threw together a trailer because you have to submit one if you're nominated even if you don't win and it was on 5th Dec US, which would be 6th something in Poland, a weekend. What exactly happened with the Elder Blood trailer. I don't think there are too many people doubting the game will be awesomeGlad I could help. The game is awesome. Once you guys play it, you will see it for yourselves.
Read in a preview/interview yesterday they said they are trying to get it to 1080p but currently it was 900p.Are you expecting the XB1 version to be upgraded to 1080p by launch?
That's a general statement that just about everyone issues, even the journalists who went for the hands on mentioned that the PC version looked better, had a larger LOD etc etc. I'd say it's a good sign if your average joe can look at the game and immediately notice the difference. As for the FPS drops, it's not always easy to tell the framerate with your eyes, it was a hands-on environment, people were allowed to play a section the game, not test and benchmark it so I would be wary of such claims.
Not saying you should dismiss it, I can tell fps by the eyes too, but it's not *always* accurate, take it with a grain of salt
Optimizations are still underway, such performance without optimizations is not anything to worry about.
I read that there won't be any differences in quality in terms of pc vs consoles. So if they can't get xbox to support 1080p, we (in pc) will have to play the game at 900p? ...Read in a preview/interview yesterday they said they are trying to get it to 1080p but currently it was 900p.
Hope that answers your question.
No. All that statement said they were using the same assets - textures, models. It has nothing to do with resolution or anything else of that sort.I read that there won't be any differences in quality in terms of pc vs consoles. The previews already mentioned that the PC version had a bigger LOD so I'm not sure what you're trying to say. The mod also destroyed the performance of your machine because it was never intended to have such a huge grass LOD over DirectX9.But draw distance is a variable, not an asset, and they said the draw distance would be the same across all platforms. In Witcher 2 this was configurable (albeit limitedly, unless you downloaded a third-party configurator, and you had to download a mod to remove foliage pop-in).

Just that the same code for things like lighting, shadows, foliage, WHATEVER is used and not something different for each platform, same technology, doesn't mean they will all actually LOOK the exact same.
Example:
If setting 1 renders 5 trees and setting 2 renders 20 trees it's still the same tech/code just different values those are not mentioned.
