I neither need not want photorealism. "Photorealism" is to my thinking an excuse for not doing art and a buzzword that viewers have been led to believe is something they want. I want fantastical, I want surrealist. I've already listed some ways in which the trailer falls short in ordinary mechanics and execution of art.You're making us seem like we want a super photo-realistic product, when all we want is to not be fucked by video game companies anymore.
And if this is what constitutes being "fucked by a video game company", there are many much worse disappointments in store.
