The questionable looking bits that got everyone so riled up are still present in the 'improved' version of the trailer, by the way. If that one's actually the improved trailer @TheEvilChris was talking about.

And while CDPR's intentions were undoubtedly good there's nothing wrong with getting slapped around the head with a healthy dose of criticism once in a while. Especially if you're boasting about 'genre-defining, truly next generation audio-visual fidelity' and your latest promotion material, which you'd think represents the status quo of the game 3 months short of release can't live up to that.

Good morning. So, I have always been in favor of telling the truth to your community as much as possible. I think this is a good opportunity to give your community an inside look at what happens, so here ya go.

We initially didn't have a new video scheduled for release at this time. The game team is finishing the game, Christmas is coming and January & February will be very busy, so there wasn't a video scheduled to be made. Then, we learned we were nominated for Most Anticipated Game at the VGAs (which we won. Woot!). So a decision was made to create a video to show at the VGAs (whether we won or lost). The video team did a fantastic job getting a video put together in the time-frame they had to make the show's deadline. However, it was not compressed to the correct rate and did not look as good on YouTube as it does in the actual game.

After seeing concerns from fans that the game has been downgraded (which it ABSOLUTELY HAS NOT), the team recompressed the video and it is now being uploaded to YouTube and other channels. You should be seeing the new video shortly. Hopefully, it will alleviate your worries about any false graphical downgrade rumors.

Now you know.

This thread added 50 pages in the last 8 hours. Took digging back a few pages but glad to see this "official" statement. Great to see a rep giving some feedback and I can't wait to see the new upload, whenever its available.

Hmm.. I liked it, sure the fur texture looked bad on skelators clothing and the griffin fur on XB1 live demo last E3 looked bad. I thought fur/hair tech was going to be in the game on consoles before launch? Mayybe the fur tech is in game, but not in the cutsenes. I would be cool with that at least, I prefer in game graphics to look better anyways.

Ok so i watched new version... in motion it looks nice . I think problem with the old version is that steel on armor of Wild Hunt soldiers isnt "factory new clean" and with bad conversion of youtube it looks atrocious.On new version it looks very nice , armors have some signs of ice/age or smth.

But...there is always but.ground , snow and overall scene of action ... hmm idk it looks like winter ist looking good in Witcher 3.
