Obvious Downgrade

I think the wild hunt models are by far the worst thing now that I've seen the newer version. Some of the general riders look fine but the main villains look really awful compared to before. Yennefer looks good, Geralt looks better. Some scenes seem to lack some effects to me like when Geralt and Lambert are fighting. It's another mish mash of quality differences like other trailers but way more noticeable on The Wild hunt

Shit, are we really complaining about that tiny little part?! Yeah, it looks really awful, but to me it doesn't look like it's intended and I'm sure it won't look like that in the final game. Something must have gone wrong during the making/rendering of the video. Or the "frost effect" simply looks bad as it is. But that's easily moddable / can be fixed by the REDs in a month. The rest of the textures looked pretty damn good if you ask me...like seriously.

Sure sure, keep telling yourself that! Someday you might even believe it. And Origins looking better with texture packs? Say goodbye to your credibility.

Maybe Origins doesn't look better but it's the best game of the saga so far. I mean, graphics aren't the most important factor in a RPG.

Silly? Ok now I'm angry.

The trailer is part of their official marketing, it was at the single largest game awards show this year, an event watched by millions of people world wide and an event at which they were given the most anticipated game award.

Regardless of the build, regardless of system it does not matter. It looks like absolute arse and if apologists like yourself would want to ignore reality then you're "silly"

The funny thing is that they knew for along time that they were candidates on VGX and yet they kinda rushed the trailer at the last minute.
That's some bad PR work and organization or just maybe the way to wash their hands the way Namco Bandai did with DS2.
And it is hard to believe that their PR is bad considering what they managed to do until now...
What people fail to realize is that this eruption of anger wasnt caused by this poor trailer, it was just a spark that lead to it.
CDPR has not been answering very important questions about their game for quite some time no, and this was about to happen sooner or later.

Yeah, not everything looks like we would want, but overall it looks good, especially Yen or Ciri, so I believe that if there will be this quality of character they will improve other characters such as "wild hunter" and his textures.
Now I´m going to have a calmer sleep.

I think the question here is why certain parts look good, and others atrocious. It's befuddling to say the least.
